Just announced - died at 84 from cancer. He was such a staple of my youth, every day before school - I'm sure for many of us. What a cool memory to have, having him over for my wife's 43rd birthday party a few years ago. I lived on Bainbridge at that time and we would time when we left for the bus stop by his show. When local Television was actually local television rather then canned game shows or court shows.
