WRC drivers are so talented and he was one of the best, sad that his son went with him, his wife must be devastated
Holy cow... This is REALLY sad... My heart jumped up to my throat just now... RIP, one of todays great drivers I'm so sad now...
As a fellow Scot, i have followed Coiln's career closely, along with every other motorsport fan in the country.. Colin is regarded as a national hero in Scotland, his natural ability to control a car over the limit and his balls out commitment everytime he was on a stage or track is legendary.. I was lucky enough to see him race and rally many times, and every time it was an honour and always highly entertaining.. One of my fondest memorys of Colin is from the WRC Rally deutschland 2003. While traveling between stages along a section of the Autobann, at speeds that would have u eatting prison food in many countrys. We spotted a red rally car in the distance looking a little worse for wear! As we approched we discovered it was Coiln, but we also discovered that we have put all our camaras in the boot (trunk). So we had to speed up to get a big enough gap so we could stop get out, get the camaras from the trunk, and then get back up to speed so we could take pics of us crusing along with him in his WRC car! Colin was more then happy to give us a wave and a friendly nod of the head once he saw the Scotland flags, and the delight on our faces !! My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to his family and freinds.. Charlie..
For those who have not seen him in full battle, here's a short onboard vid of him at full attack ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gScBGQfVeNE He will be sorely missed....
