I was only seven when the Dukes of Hazzard came out. I was already watching more adult geared fare when the show came out. Like Starsky & Hutch, so wasn't a huge fan, but did watch. The show is still part of my childhood. So the death is a sad deal. Rest in peace Sherriff Roscoe (James Best).

I don't remember the schedule. In Canada, back then and still today, our cable TV carried the big American networks. For BC that meant our CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox, etc. all came out of Seattle. So we got all the shows at the same time as America. Only 80's show I remember when it aired was Miami Vice.

By about age 10 I was bored of the Dukes and onto Magnum PI as my favorite show.

We also lost Geoff Lewis who starred in a lot of movies but I remember him best as Clint's sidekick in the Every Which way movies.

    Didn't realize he died. RIP.

He was in two different episodes of Magnum PI. Just saw those episodes recently on Encore.

I'm trying to remember which ones, was he a hot dog vendor in one and it also had Luther Gillis in it and Magnum was getting a private investigator award?

Yep he was in Luther Gillis Returns. The other episode was called I Never Wanted to Go to France, Anyway. He plays the main bad guy in it. But his face was heavily disguised as the bad guy was burned in a fire.

A Magnum PI fan site lists all the episodes and gives trivia for each episode. Its fun to watch an episode now and see if the actors/actresses are still working. Its amazing how many of them are now dead.

Yep. He was a fan of the show apparently. According to the trivia, Sinatra was paid scale for his appearance. Sinatra took the entire floor of hotel, for him and his entourage. So doing the episode probably cost Sinatra some pretty big coin to do.

Yes, Sharon Stone also did a two part episode.

Even the most interesting man in the world, did a magnum back in the day.

Not just the celebrities, I'm amazed how many of the little known character actors that are still working today.

It was Straight and Narrow. Magnum Mania! - Episode Guide - Straight and Narrow Jonathan Goldsmith is his real name. I checked his IMD profile, he did a lot of shows in the late 60's, 70's and 80's. From Adam 12, CHiPS and even a Fall Guy.
