    Tragic for the owner. :(

As an aside, FChat gets a shout-out in the article.

I think I'm going to change my pumps and inspect the hoses as a matter of course at this point.

What’s the best way to determine if the car was fixed under recall? My service history is a little incomplete

Crazy to think enjoying a drive one minute, watching your dream burn up the next.
    That sucks.

Just need to remove the larger engine covers and look at the color of the pumps. I read in another post that the original fuel pumps are white in color, and if they have been replaced the new ones are an off-white/tan/light brown ish color.

The owner is on here. It's up to him if he wants to identify himself or elaborate on the situation.

Sad to see this. Thankfully no one was heart. This would be traumatic and humiliating and I hope the owner is taking it in stride.

IATT - can you be a little more specific?

I’m interested in checking the color on mine…

Unless RN knows if mines already been done too?! :)

You can see the color difference in the pictures that I posted above. The white one is the older one and the tan one is the newer one. The newer tan ones have been known to leak also however so don’t just rely on the color if you smell gas.

I see the color difference - how easy to get to this (there’s two of them?) to check that color?

There’s two. Have to remove both engine covers if it’s a coupe. Spyders have smaller covers that can be removed.

Thanks! I found several helpful YouTube videos and - since I have a spyder :) - is super easy to check and doesn't look tough to replace either.
