We're staying on the riverwalk this weekend.
Its our anniversary so I'm looking for a nice intimate & cozy 5 star restaurant.
    We've been told about Pesca.
Any others you'd say to try?

    Thanks all,

Hey, call the Hyatt Hill Country...They'll tell you some of the great down town places to eat....Just ask for the concierge desk or guest services and tell them you were a past guest....I actually like Biga/Bega on The Banks.

French = Le Reve, only 5 star French Resturaunt in Texas...It's good. I liked it. Funny thing they didn't even have French Toast, French Fries, or French Ticklers. Good luck with a reservation though. I called them, they didnt have anything. The number is 210-212-2221, call her she might have a cancelation.

Spanish - Las Ramblas in the Contesa, it was ok. Sit outside and enjoy.

Biga on the Banks- American Fussion, it's really good. Sometimes you can even catch a celebrity or two in there. Try them for Brunch on Sunday, for $40 per person you can have all of the food you can stand and enough champaign mimosas to cure what ails you.

Citrus - In the Hotel Valencia, great Asian Fusion, cool atmosphere. I'd go there for after dinner drinks and a place to chill.

And the old stand bys... Palm for the Lobster and Morton's and Bohanan's for the steaks...all good places. Two are on Houston Street, all are ok, but not 5 stars.

Now if you want to go outside of downtown, some other good ones in SA are....

The Lodge on Lockhill Slema- 210-349-8466, Jason is a great chef. See if you can get in there. I think it might be what you are looking for. Maybe a 20 minute drive from downtown.

Silo- on Austin Highway... It's closer to Downtown, maybe 15 minutes. It's ok, but no where near 5 Star. Good still.

Hope that helps, you'd think for the 8th fattest city in the US we'd have a larger variety. Sorry to disappoint you. Have a Happy Anniversary. If you need other ideas, send me a PM.

    Wes,
    I really appreciate it.

If Le Reve had french ticklers that would have been the one :)
Rlued out the ones that require a drive. A couple of cocktails, a bottle of wine, some flirting time with my lovely bride and driving an Fcar don't mix. Just what I need; a night in jail for DWI on my anniversary.

So is it Biga on the Banks? Palm? or Bohanans?

Citrus sounds like a great idea for after dinner drinks, we're in.

I knew if I posted here I get a few ideas. Thanks in advance for any additional input.

Been there, done that......... & stay away from Biga on the Banks.

I feel that they have had their "heyday" & are living on a reputation. Rather overpriced & really not that great of food. The atmosphere was O.K. at best. Pretty snotty attitude too.

Just my experience of wasting $100.00 for a dinner that I could have gotten at T.G.I. Friday's or Bennigan's......

Had a great time. We work an awful lot so a day off is a real treat. We've only had 2 since last Christmas. Ah the joys of owning your own business.

It was nice to see you. My meeting went well with the F&B director. I'll send you a PM about it.

    Funny story...
We're having dinner Sunday night. My wife is wearing a very elegant/sexy dress and looks like a million. She gets up to go use the ladies room and walks by a table with 2 couples sitting at it. One of the guys looks up, sees her, notices how good she looks and can't help but stare.
His wife hauls off and backhands him. Not a light pat...she bit*h slaps him!
I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair.

Made it from San Antonio to Schulenberg in under 1 hour! WOO HOO the V-12 was roaring!
