It went way less than estimate price. Good example why some cars should have a reserve.

I have the specific sale number written down in the stuff that is being mailed back to me from Scottsdale. When get it delivered will let you know.

They are not worth what most people think, and the market is showing true values. 80k is the right number.

Probably true, but it's a lot of car for 360 money.

I was there & looked these cars over. The 308 "racecar" was well used. It had a 3.2 liter Mondial engine, and the rest of the car was poorly represented. Not that it matters (its a racecar) but there was more dirt in the paint than color... I believe it was bid to $30,000 - and that was too much. A reserve would have been useless on such a car. My son really wanted me to bid on it though. But he's 14.

The BBi was neat, but not a super example. One thing that sticks in my mind was that the day of the auction the front indicator lights were just black taped or capped over. The catalog photos did not show that way. The car was just a used BBi that sold at about the right price, if not a tad high when adding buyers premium.

The F40 was a sight to behold. I spoke to he cosigner and really enjoyed looking this car over. It read 284 miles and it looked it. I assumed it would sell over its pre auction estimate & it rightfully did. It was / is a great example & it even seemed to run well even after no use for so long. Great iconic car.

What happened relative to the 1950s SuperAmerica? It was one of the highlight cars - estimate over $1.5 million - but I have seen no news on it.

RE: Boxer sale price - as noted in the model-specific forum, if the car had maintenance needs, the price was market correct. A car that's up to date on service vs one that isn't can be a difference of $20-30k.
