RM literature auctions - Are these early documents original?

    They appear genuine to me, Dyke or anyone have an opinion? Probably not the right auction for this sort of stuff--Ladenburg or Ni-Cola might be better.

    A quick glance at them seems normal to me. Estimates way out of line.

    Too low or too high? As the toolkits for a 275 were estimated around 8k-12k but sold for 25k hammer (+20% + vat....). Mind you that most of these articles came with the car and thus “stolen” in stead of passing it to the next owner. 3k for an original foglio seems quite high to me. But than again I thought 8k for a toolkit was already too much....

    These documents should be more valuable to the owners of the specific cars--rather than literature collectors or marque historians.

    Most historians "trade" information rather than buy it. This is certainly not to say Build Sheets are not "purchased" from time to time to add to one's historical research. When large amounts of data becomes available, sometimes a purchase is the only way to acquire the knowledge. The quest is for knowledge, not paper. The documents do have value to the car's owners.
