The White/Blue 599 that completed the PanAmerican tour is to be auctioned by RM/Sotheby's on May 20 in Maranello.

Any thoughts as to what it is worth?

In years to come the future owner will see his car in the Ferrari Yearbook, will this have much of a positive effect on the newer models?

i'm no expert on this kind of subject, but i would venture to guess that those who followed the trip would be willing to shell out big bucks for it. however, due to the mileage, that could bring the price down. so, basically it could go either way imo.

I dont really think it will go for extreme money. It has alot of miles compared to others out there, and from what I saw it was a rough ride on the cars (even though ferrari maintained the car). The run wasnt a race so no value there, I think someone will get it for a good price.

I dont think its gonna get anymore then market value. High milage and a tour which isnt really going to be remembered in Ferrari history as anything special.

It was hard miles with numerous wheel suspension damage repairs and the lower rockers will need paint work......

That said I'd personally like it as it has an aluminum armoured skid pan for road debris, I crawled under it with my son to check it out!

    YMMV........

They were both F1 shifters as well, and I'm a ludite 6 speed guy.....

Rationale words that may not apply when 2 irrational bidders are at the auction. To me it is a tired 599 but to someone else it might be a treasure
