Road America RA500 -- August 21-22

Anyone coming out Road America (Elkhart Lake WI) for the RA 500 the weekend of August 21-22 ?

RA500 features the ALMS (American Le Mans) series, as well as the Speed World Challenge (SCCA Pro) series. This is one of the premiere sportscar racing events in the region, and includes Ferraris in both the GTS (550/575) and GT (360) classes.

Am planning to come out on Sunday, and catch the SWC Touring Car and ALMS RA500 races. They run the SWC GT cars on Saturday.

ALMS GTS class will be all American iron this weekend

2 Vette C5-R, Viper and Saleen S7R. I'll be rooting for the Saleen, but the Vettes will probably clean up.

 

Turns out the ALMS GT lineup this weekend is pretty much a all-Porsche (911 GT3 RSR) field, with 1 Panoz Esperante for giggles. Still interesting, but pretty much a high-end PCA club race... might end up passing on this, after all.
