    Not a big deal, but....

    I picked up an additional copy of the May 1972 R&T with the road test of the US Spec Dino 246GT in a pile of magazines I bought the other day. As I already have 2 copies, I don't need this one.

    I've read a lot of 246 reviews as the car is contemporary to mine and I have most of the major car mags of the era. No one really liked the 246. R&T call the style "dated" which it really was at the time. The wedges were starting to pop up, especially from Maserati, and it looked 'so 60's' by 1972. Yet here we are loving its classic styling today.

    Other reviews call it slow, with awkward seating and pedals, and few tests seemed to be in a car with the carbs correctly set up. They liked the handling and for the era it was excellent but that was about the only good thing anyone had to say about it. I have not read any reviews of the 246 where anyone really liked it!

    Yet today it's worth many times the $14k sticker, and deservedly so. It's a timeless classic that was lost on people when it came out. I wish I had $14k for a car back then!

    you wonder how many pantera owners out there are saying, woulda coulda shoulda. . . (although I guess you coulda had two panteras for the price of one dino, oh well)

    Graham. PM me your address. It's not a big deal. I have a CD full of Dino articles, along with some other general Ferrari stuff that I'll toss in an envelope with the R&T materials.

    It'll cost me $2.00 to send. Small sum to pay for the continued happiness of another Dino owner. Besides, next time I need a part from the UK, you can pick 'er up and ship 'er over. :D
