Unlike Motor Trend, it seems R&T CAN actually drive really fast cars. Latest issue of R&T has a track test on their local airport track. F12 is the fastest car they have tested there, with a meaningfully faster top speed than any other car they have ever tested. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not surprising. I've been at the facility with R&T on a number of occasions. The truth is that Larry Webster does all the testing, and he really knows what he's doing behind the wheel of a car. I've watched him hop between cars and quickly build up to a fairly frightening pace.
the lexus lfa was quite disappointing considering its cost and deveopment time and exotic materials. horrible, horrible casting....watch the very ending summary.
They obviously have not tested many others current Ferraris on that track as the 458 would be on that list too.
Ive heard such conflicting remarks on the lfa. Some say its incredible others say dissapointing. Not sure what to think
Road & Track and Car and Driver are old time traditional car mags, with testing by the numbers by guys who know what they are doing. They can actually be relied upon. No trendy "Experience" testing without much performance data for them. This does not mean that they never come up with an odd result, but they will tell you when it is a preference-based thing.
