Well. we rolled in at noon today due to delays! Chemical plant fire on I40 took us south at Las Vegas. It turned out to be fate, because Monday thru Phoenix, we looked over at Firebird Raceway to see a familiar profile.

A yellow 250LM was circling the track! We pulled a screaming U turn
and got permission to enter the test track to find SEVEN vintage cars shaking down for Monterey! You won't believe the list.

More pics when I get back. El Paso to Houston last night was brutal!
Road kill everywhere and V. can't drive at night! She gave me the wheel three blocks from home today, when I accused her of tailgating in Houston traffic with my new vintage car, I've got damage control to do here!

Well, she had such a WONDERFUL time with everything. We saw such beautiful country and met wonderful folks everywhere we went!

Then, when we were back in town, my body was killing me from sleeping in that tiny seat. Before I fully woke up, and remembering the intense fatigue of the drive last night, I said, "It will take a week and a half before this trip looks good in retrospect."

She got upset, taking it out of context, and pulled over next exit to give me the wheel back.

It was a wonderful trip and I could NOT have done it without her.
I'll take a month off next time!!! Pics to follow.

The drive thru Yosemite and Mono Lake was GREAT!!
The cork in the olive oil popped out at 13,000 Ft., good thing it was upright in the trunk!

That restuarant at the Mono Lake overlook was a BIG surprise!!
Gourmet cook knocking out great Fish tacos for the ski bums.

The World's Fastest Art Car is headed for the spa, to primp and pamper for the Pirelli Classic in New Orleans, see LA regional section. We hope to have it in fine fettle for that!

Thanks for the tip on the Davis Mts.!! We knew the observatory and scenery were there, but sadly were out of time and had to ZOOM on I10 back home.

Well for two days my photos have been pushed aside at the one hour photo lab! I told them last night that I had A LOT of folks that wanted to see them and they'd better shape up, OR else! LOL!

Wow! Tillman, you did set the nets deep to get this one! I should have done it while I was "off"....but you are right, with my current status I can tell the tale!

Got the CD right at the box at home....resizing may take a while, I could do a few at a time....LaFun2 is long gone, and Zupra is probably shaving by now....

Today is Lady Valeria's birthday, let me finish shopping and I'll thank all these fine folks who were my "safety net" all the way. A great bunch of folks we have here.....
