Has anyone used Ferrari's "roadside assistance"? When I first got my car a few months ago, there was some transmission fluid leak (at least I think - red fluid) underneath and next the right rear wheel. I called the dealer and he said it is likely from the trans overfill. Basically said not to worry about unless it occurs again. Well it did. The car needs to be brought back to the dealer. Unfortunately they are 200 miles away. He said I will need to send it via roadside assistance. Who are the guys that do this? Are these just some towing companies that they subcontract out to? Do they pick up the car and transport it in an enclosed van or a flatbed? Anyone have any experience, good or bad? Thanks, Al

I have used Ferrari Roadside 2 times since 2002. Indy to Chicago is 180 miles +/-. They use a towing company that will keep the car secure and inside if the dealer is closed. I have had a great experience but that is only with one dealer. Lake Forest Ferrari was the dealer. They will also cooperate on the return trip as I did not want to have the car hauled in the rain. The hauling company did not use an enclosed trailer.

Wanted to follow-up to my original post. Today I had my car picked up and taken back to the dealer because of some leaking transmission fluid. Just want to say that the overall experience went very well. Call to Ferrari Roadside was very professional. I asked for a specific time to pick up. They called me back and confirmed everything. The company that picked up the car on a flat bed was Shamrock Towing in Ohio. Very large towing company that handles mostly high-end cars. Midwestern Auto Group Ferrari dealer in Ohio uses this company. Called me this morning before leaving Ohio to confirm time and place. Arrived on time from 3 hours away, very professional driver who was very meticulous getting the car on the flat bed. Arrived safely in Ohio. I sure hope this turns out to be a minor problem because I already miss the car. Al
