San Jose Used Cars | BMW | Porsche | Mercedes | 408-205-4567 I am considering this 456. I like that it is a 1 owner car. Anyone in the Campbell/ San Jose area know this dealer or even better this car? This would be my first 12, any thoughts and feedback welcomed and appreciated! Andrew
I guess prices have dropped about 40% in the past seven years. This one looks to be in pretty good shape. Control surfaces don't look bubbly/sticky and the dash hasn't pulled back. Obviously a PPI is a must, especially since the valve guides, if they were going to go, might go around that mileage (they did in my car). The red calipers set off the monochromatic look nicely.
Andrew - I was also interested in that 456 and was told it was sold. I am about to take delivery of a 2000 456M GTA (my 1st ever Ferrari) soon and wanted to ask if someone could recommend a good site for wheels and tires. I've pics of 456 that have what I believe to be NP2's wheels and I think that style gives the car a modern look. Any advise and/or opinions would be appreciated. I am in the Bay Area. Thanks.
It is a well balance car with an outstanding engine, best V12 deal for the $$$. I liked it so much that I am currently buying another one but a PPI is highly recomended
P- Welcome to FChat and congratulations on your 456M. The Novitec NF2 wheels are still available new and are available used quite often. Just sold mine.
Taz - Hi. Thanks for the warm welcome. Could recommend a store/site I can visit for those NP2's? I've read that wheels for the 456 are somewhat difficult to purchase, since the offsets/fits are unique (is that right?). Also, do you have any other wheels you can suggest in the same style as the NP2's? I like the NP2 a lot, they make the car look sporty, but not in a bling way.
Taz/Northman - Thanks for the warm welcome. I used the post reply and kept typing NP2's for the 456 wheels, when it's NF2. Would you guys be able to recommend a store/site to buy the NF2's or similar type wheels? From what I've read, non-factory wheels for the 456 have to be real specific, due to it's offset/size (is that correct?) Again, any info is appreciated. Thanks.
A couple of sources for new wheels. First, Formula Dynamics: I've been happy with this company's rotors and pads. Almost bought their wheels, too, until I found a cheap set of OZs on ebay: Wheel Veloce Corsa - Lightweight Performance Wheels Second, You can find wheels like mine at tirerack, though they say they're for the 550, they fit the 456 perfectly, they're well-made and they're pretty cheap, too: O.Z. P- Pretty much any wheel that fits a 550 or 575 will fit a 456/456M. OEM 575M wheels look very good on the 456/456M. This photo is of my old set on a friend's 456M. There is a thread here on 456 wheels, I believe. I got my NF2s from Jason at Exotica Motorsports, who used to be sponsor here, but not sure they are any more. He gave a good FChat discount at one point. Novitec Parts, Bentley Body Kit, Lamborghini Body Kit ? Exotica Motorsports Image Unavailable, Please Login
Again, thanks for all of the feedback. I was feeling a little intimidated about finding the right set of wheels that would fit, but now know, I have a lot more options. I tried looking in tirerack, but it gave me 0 match on the 456, will search for 550/575 instead.
Sorry, I just want to clarify about the 550/575 wheels, is it just 550/575 OEM that will fit on the 456 or any wheel that fits a 550/575 will also fit the 456?
Taz - I saw the thread regarding 456 wheels and it looks like, there is no aftermarket wheels that will just bolt directly on, is my understanding correct, that spacers will be needed at least for the rears? Again, thank you.
Sorry for being a pest, just want as much info as possible, as you all know, it's rather expensive if you get it wrong. Cheers.
P- I actually have no idea what you are talking about right now since there are literally hundreds of aftermarket wheels that fit the 456s and Maranellos. Here are the sizes and offsets for the 456/456M and 550/575M. Just about any wheel that matches up with these specs and is hub centric should work. The Novitec NF2s are actually sized for the F430 and 360, but fit the 456/456M and 550/575M rear with 25-30 mm spacers because the offsets are F430/360 optimized. Rear wheel wells on the V12s are huge. The fronts fit fine. 456 GT/456M Five Spoke 17, 5 X 108 mm Front 8.5J X 17 ET 50 mm, Rear 10J X 17 ET 24.6mm 550/575M/Superamerica 550/575M Five Spoke/Modular 18, 5 X 108 mm Front 8.5J X 18 ET 43.65 mm, Rear 10.5J X 18 ET 32 mm 575M/575 Superamerica Five Spoke Modular 19, 5 X 108 mm Front 8.5J X 19 ET 43.6 mm, Rear 10.5J X 19 ET 32 mm
After seeing 575 OEM on 456M. Who wants to buy my 550? Hahahah P- GET THE OEM 575 WHEELS FOR YOUR 456M~!!! Wow, I am inlove. That is also the 456 best angle.
Taz- okay, I misunderstood what was being said, my bad. I got it now. MAS - I do like the 575 OEM on the 456, I think I will go with those. The NF2's are just too expensive, as much as I like the "exotic look". So, going with the 575 OEM 19 inch (or are the 18's a better fit/ride?) - do I have this correct - fronts are direct bolts, but will need spacers for the rears (10-15 mm)?
P- Good choice. NF2's look great also, but not as good as OEM 575. I've seen both. Plus, I understand you on the money. Why pay massive amounts more when the others look better or a tad less appealing (depending on perception). I think they look BETTER because they're a cleaner/crisper look! Spacers will be needed in the rear, 345 wide tires - go with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Your rear stance will look great! Do you have pics of your new bride???
P- The 19" modulars for the 575M are at least $8K per set, so do not think you want to go there. The 18" 575M wheels go for around $3500-4500 depending on condition of the tires. You can buy new sets of 550 wheels for ~$1200 from Exoticar. They look nice on a 456, too. GS- Mine have 25 mm Hill Engineering Type 2 spacers. At least for one more day since I got my last 19" modular Tuesday. Be advised the bolts on those spacers are slightly too large and may need to be slightly shortened/turned for the NF2s. Or get Novitec's spacers, which cost about twice as much. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
