Great night, nice to meet you Rob and Jennie. I think you've made the right decision canceling the Mt ISA part of your trip. Safe trip home, say hello to George Dubya
You're right Scott. After Rob and Jennie left, Horse and Gleggy had to have one for the road, then one for the white line, then one for the broken white line ......etc etc. It was a great night, nice to meet Rob & Jennie.
Vonny and I had a great night too ..... If anyone gets a chance to meet Rob and Jenny don't hesitate , they're such lovely people. Glad you enjoyed Lone Pine also ..... perfect for visitors with time constraints. ( PAP please re-explain the "rooting for ____ " Re: language differences pleeeeeeease. ).
well after sorting out work I finally got around to downloading the pics , somehow I screwed up most of the pics Luckily one of the girls that worked at Brekkie Creek took a photo for me (where's my boy when I need him !!) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great day for Surfer's Paradise! Easy van transfer right there and although tempted, we resisted jumping off at the American tourist traps WB Movies or Sea World. Sunny most of the day and water was 20, so wetsuit really wasn't needed for temps, but I needed it for all the crashers that ate me and spit me out. I still got scratched up pretty bad, but it could have been worse without a nice thick padding of rubber. First entering beach right from the main mall area it was crowded and they had warnings not to go over waist deep. What!?! I came all this way to get beat up by waves and I was being denied. Walked up to the lifeguards and they gave me heads up to try the flag zones south along the beach for less crowds and more freedom. That worked out great as less crowds and that lifeguard let me go out to the first break although I seemed to be the only one. Look in the one ocean pic and you can clearly see the shore break where everyone was and then the first break farther out. We swam hard. A couple hours before lunch and then back out again for another couple hours before our van pickup. An unexpected bonus was the constant air show through the day as planes and helicopters passed both directions. Some really cool stuff, like a BT and something like a Steerman. One plane was even doing aerobatics with a few loops and rolls. On the way out I was rescued by a Mermaid or was it Metermaid? Great to hear you loved the GC mate! Also, nice wetsuit..........homo. Those Metermaids always make Pappy go ten-hut.
Just remembered, I got ALL the paperwork sorted to take Rob and Jen underground for a tour. I will tell ya all about it when you get here Rob. Anywho, if Pappy gets banned....................who knows, Rob may go missing down there. Its a big, dark hole down there.
