More racing. No bumps and bruises that race even with all that smoke... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
And once we remove the yellow vinyl from Lake Forest, this is what is waiting for us... The car as it looks today but without the sponsor logs... I like the black and silver repaint. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
We are happy with the car and excited about giving it a great home. Should look very sharp once we freshen up a few things. Robb
And of Course this is great news that we have located the MSO or Certificate of Origin. Hopefully that will help us in getting a title and moving forward with that process. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool. good luck with that. OBD can be a killer you may have to switch it over to OBD2 then no issue at all. federal law, Been there done that Looks great with the wide silver strips !!!! How far back you going in the restore? I think I am going back to 2013 for its last championship season, after all mine is so heavily modified and so fast possibly the fastest 355 there is. This may be my best option. So hard to decide
Stanislaus - this one is for you. Here is the interior back in 2001 after a heavier SCCA roll cage was added. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tim, The car was repainted in black with silver stripes 11 years ago in 2003. We'll see the condition under the yellow vinyl but I think it should be pretty good. The rest of the car is in great shape. So we will doing a paint correction... For now, we plan to get the seats, belts, wheel, cage, and rims corrected also with the correct logos added. Then in the future, we would like to return the car to it's 1998 running as Blu Pozzi / white. For us, we love the dark blue and white of 1998. And we love those sponsors of our team. Long term fun ownership ahead. And we'll tackle a little at a time. Robb
Robb -- with some of these cars increasing in value are you guys planning to race it extensively or lightly? Fantastic work tracking the car history down by the way...
Thanks Dan, We are going to enjoy the car on the track regularly. We will wait to get our own skills up before joining too much traffic though. I think a race school will be in order for my brother and me first. We would ideally enjoy racing but just like the challenge series - in a gentlemanly way and with other Ferraris and Challenge cars. We'll leave rubbing paint to others. We're not really interested in being out there with Miata's, S2000, or civics... (no offense meant) Robb
We are just getting started on the history, records and photos. I have video in-coming from Montreal '98 for starters... Exciting times. Robb
Here is a photo from Forza magazine during the 1998 season with our teammate Marvin Jones #40 behind. Two cars in front of us was Nizam's current car (on Ferrarichat) #16 also in Blu Pozzi - but back then his car had light blue bumpers and wheels. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
This thread is makes me wish I still had my car! Just happy it ended up in very good hands. Robb - I saw your car in the paddock at Road America in 2013, well done. And your investigative skills are amazing, can't believe you've been able to recover so much history. Very cool, keep it coming ... Marius - contact Bruce Miller (info in the other thread), as he will certainly have pics from the Duno era of your car. I know he has one of me in the car from 2013 at Road America as I met him there and that pic is now hanging in my garage.
Thanks Rob, I'll definitly get in touch with him. Just back from picking up the car in Bremen and unloaded at my home in Belgium a few minutes ago. Fired her up the first time, my goodness, what a sound. Kids and neighbours are all awake again but that was worth it....
Engine out service started late last week. Getting it ready and prepped. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will ask the driver when I touch base with him for the history books. Best finish the car ever had was second in endurance behind your car and 6th in an individual race so my guess is that Tim saw Earle's lights a lot... And a good bit of yellow I am guessing Earle and our teammate Matt Drendel #32 swapped paint quite a bit though as they ran neck and neck. Robb
