Robert Blake Found Innocent of Murder

By GREG RISLING, Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES - A jury acquitted tough-guy actor Robert Blake (news) of murder Wednesday in the shooting death of his wife four years ago, a stunning verdict in a case that played out like pulp fiction.

The jury also acquitted Blake of one charge of trying to get someone to kill his wife, but deadlocked on a second solicitation charge.

That post doesn't show that the charge they were deadlocked on was 11-1 for not guilty-- proven innocent by his peers..

She certainly had a shady past…
Which is probably the Jury’s way of saying:
She went Down, for not Goin Down, on a bunch
of Men, that she was paid to Go Down on.

One shred of reasonable doubt is all it takes.

    My Guess… He did it.

No can do. OJ's checking the golf courses and Blake needs to cover the trailer parks.

Was he found not guilty or found innocent? Massive difference between the two.
NG = He probably done it, just can't seem to get enough dump trucks loaded with evidence to prove it.

I = Here you go sir, a clean bill of life. No way and no how you did it, sorry.

Anybody could have killed that woman because she ripped off so many lonely men. I like old Robert Blake and I assume the jury did their job. It took a lot out of him and now he is an old man. How would anybody who was innocent like to spend 4 years fighting for your life.

Regardless of what we all think, Mr Blake will have to stand before his Maker one day and he will be judged accordingly !

Personally, I think he did it. What got him off and Scott Peterson death row were:

Blake maintained a humble, patient attitude and went along with the system, setting himself up as a sympathetic character. Peterson maintained that attitude of cold, aloof arrogance.

The character differences between the victims. Laci P. was a pretty, sweet young innocent mother to be, Bakley was a hardened sleazebag whose murder the authorities would have considered little more than littering if a famous person wasn't the suspect.

The fact that Blake is genuinely concerned about his young child surely didn't hurt him.

It seems like a lot more than just the facts come into play in deciding these types of cases.

Scott will never get executed. Now had he killed his wife in Florida or Texas, he would have something to worry about.

To my knowledge, US courts don't find people Innocent...only Not Guilty. Do Canadian courts have Innocent as an option?

What are you guys talking about?????

    From AP news release.....

The 71-year-old star of the 1970s detective drama ''Baretta'' is charged with one count of murder and two counts of solicitation of murder. Court officials said the jury was deadlocked on one of the solicitation counts, and reached verdicts on the two other charges.
Prosecutors say Blake shot Bonny Lee Bakley, 44, in a car outside a restaurant in May 2001 after failing to persuade two ex-stuntmen to kill her.
He could get up to life in prison; prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.
