    Hello Everyone!

I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Alan and I am just getting my feet wet in the Ferrari world. I have always been in love with the 308 and when I search my sole as to the original spark that started my desire it wavers back and forth from my older brother, who was a big car buff in the 70's and of course Magnum PI.

I attended my first Ferrari Car Show last month at T. Rutlands in Tucker Georgia and was glad to see a couple of Detroit Tigers hats floating around. I knew I was not the only Magnum fan around which made me breathe a little easier.

Anyway... I was messing around on Google Map the other day and found a satellite image of the estate used for the show and thought it would be fun to post it here.

    Enjoy! -Alan

    Thanks Michael!

That was some interesting reading. What I think is cool is to see how close the estate is to Pearl. You have a better since of where the episodes all took place when you can "Google-Fly" over some of the sites.

I had a buddy of mine send me these photos of one of the Magnum cars he saw during the Universal tour. (I read several people were asking about it in the other threads).

It's about time they (Google Earth) updated that area. Not that long ago, it was one of the areas that was still pretty fuzzy.

The photo above was one of the last model model they use, an 84 QV GTS before the series end. But I read somewhere in the Fchat that they did use the 328, now weather this is true or not I don't know. But anyway that was a great map, thanks Alan.

I "mapped" all significant Magnum P.I. locations on Google Earth last year

Robin's Nest, King Kamehameha Club (both), Makai Pier, AZ Memorial, Universal Studios etc.

I lost all the marks when my comp crashed though :(

When I get around to do them agaion I will upload them for you peeps.

Sorry, but this may be a stupid question.... what were the circumstances around the use of this property during the show?

    Rented, studio exec getaway...??

    And what's the deal now?

From what I've read the property was owned and still is owned by Mrs. Anderson. When she was asked how her house was picked for the show, she said they just knocked on her door one day. She also said the estate was just used as a backdrop and they didn't film much but the outside shots there. Everything else was filmed at the diamond head studios including the interior shots of the guest house which in reality is nothing more than the boat house.

She kept in touch with the cast after the show ended but not that much anymore.

Actually, that's not true. The 328 was never used at any time during the series.

The actual house is located in Waimanalo on the island of O'ahu. I've driven by it many times. For those of you that have visited Sea Life Park (a well known tourist atraction), you may have driven right by the place and not noticed it. It's hidden by thick trees with a rolling gate at the front entrance.
