Just curious if anyone has built up a Boxer or TR with a robust clutch and transmission. If so, what did it take?

On these lists, I read of work done by several shops, but it's hard to compere. It might be good to put the data in one place.

Would it be possible to build a Boxer or TR where one could drag race it or abuse them as we know some owners do? If those were some design goals, it should lead to something more reliable under careful care.

    Hi,
All that I can say is this:
When my clutch on my '86 TR was gone,I had the possibility to go for stock or "better".
Saw the 2 competition discs, but no diafragm was availeble.
After all,I bought the stock clutch and intermediate plate, beause I was not sure the OM diafragm could handle the harder material of the AP Racing discs....

Is there any chance that a transmission like the one Bob Wallace is building you could be any cheaper if some TR owners got together a group order?

Swapping later trans to earlier cars seems popular, as well.

    Thanks for the clutch experience.
