Lance seems to perform best on the high speed circuits--Baku, Canada and Monza. He has shown that he can drive a F1 car in a straight line with the best of them. To be fair his poor qualifying position at Montreal was beyond his control.
Who Kubica? I was all for Kubica coming back to F1 but what he has done so far is beyond pathetic. 30+ seconds off his rookie team mate. Pack it up already.
Yes he did have a good race and beat his team mate, so credit there. Still doesn’t absolve him of his spoilt brat behaviour at Williams last year. He has a very long way to go, in being a gentleman to get over that, regardless of his race pace or money.
No a future WDC, but he is improving. Realistically, Point Racing can at best be looking at being in the points, no more. Lance has done that a few times this year, so it's not so bad. But he should get out of the way quicker when lapped.
Solid mid-field performance by Lance yesterday. Good start, raced well, and beat his teammate. Not WDC material yet but far from the 'useless' label is so popular on this thread. In Canada the petulant brat award had to go to Magnussen though. His radio chatter with the team will not win him any fans or sympathy. Pretty poor display.
Kubica is just keeping it warm before the Latifi's ride into town ,yes Ocon is still in with MB but i would imagine hard $$$ count for more.
Latifi's father did put 250M $ in McLaren, so I guess he will try to get his son there before long. Doing an aprenticeship at Williams can't be fun all the time. Just look at Russell who was quite good in F2, and see how he is struggling now.
So more entertainment awaits us lol!! He had a solid drive yesterday no question. Let’s not get used to it
Stroll's drive in Canada has earned him the right to be considered by teams like Haas and Alfa Romeo. I can't think of a driver who is looking for a ride who should consider taking a seat at Williams. I think Kubica squandered his chance going there...obviously he was desperate...but there were other series where he have had a better chance to prove himself. Even taking the reserve driver job at Ferrari would have made more sense than going to Williams...or trying Indy cars. I cheered for him and thought that Williams could get some needed press by signing him...but I think Kubic's next option is down to Formula E.
