By every logical assessment metric, Stroll is utter garbage. Why does the sport allow itself to be humiliated by his presence?
Stroll ticked all the boxes to get a Superlicense, and get a drive in F1. There is no rule that I know to prevent him racing there. He isn't a good driver by any stretch of imagination, but there has been many like him in the past, plenty in fact. I cannot understand that furore about him.
He is entertaining enough to keep this thread alive. He is so far out of the 'element' it is hard not to laugh at him. HIs money insulates him from the reality of his lack of talent. lol
I have seen plenty of drivers like him since I follow F1, people with very limited talent who could buy a seat, or even a car (as privaters did in the past) , but Stroll lasts longer. He is not the worst driver I have seen in F1, by a long shot. The fact that he comes from a very wealthy background doesn't help.

There is nothing wrong with him or his family being wealthy . There is nothing wrong with buying a seat or a team and wanting to be in the big show , especially when it is at your own expense . You are right , it has happened before and will happen again , it hasn’t happened to this extent or level before , but it is reality . I have no issue with it , I find it funny and entertaining. Stroll’s father , besides the fact that he is a total prick is a very successful and shrewd entrepreneur and businessman. I understand his reasoning , he wants the bet for his son and can pretty much do whatever he wants or takes to get him there . But he is no fool , money can’t buy talent , it only gets you so far, it is one thing paying for the drive , it is another to own the team . The time will come when reality sets in , that no amount of money or coaching will turn Lance into a world champion , and papa will have a to make a business decision . That will be entertaining, and then maybe not , maybe ego is more important that reality . We shall see
