Hamilton had much less time than Giovanazzi to be made aware of the pit lane being closed and it appears as though the only method of communication given the available time was the lights on the outside of Parabolica. With a healthy lead in the championship and a dominant car Mercedes was wise enough not to rock the boat by challenging the decision. That said I think the FIA and F1 could do a much better job of communicating this type of info the the drivers in a more immediate and unambiguous fashion. Again why there was not a big sign at pit entry I do not know.
Just stopping in on this thread to note that Lance has more podiums this year than Seb...... and has more points (57 to 16)
As in Seb has 3 times the points of Lance? No way. They might be about similar in points. Seb is over the hill and Lance up and coming.
So you if Seb goes to RP, you will contend they let Checo go for an inferior driver? If this plays out, I'll take the bet you're wrong.
I wouldn't bet on it but Sebastien may well find himself forced into 'voluntary' retirement due to lack of a seat. Think I'll start a new thread: will Sebastien be retired due to lack of a drive?
Vettel has been soundly defeated by 2 new team mates in 2 era's of the sport. He has failed to maintain a title challenge in 2 of 3 years recently with major mistakes in each season, in the wet and dry, while leading and trailing. He was fired by Ferrari essentially. Management saw no need to even make a deal or attempt one. Inferior. Ferrari did not even attempt to hide this.
WEll, over the hill Massa was 1sec per lap quicker ,probably more than up and coming lancelot...and Seb is faster than Felipe at this stage, so even if i reckon lancelot has improved by perhps .5 of a second, he's still very slow compared to Seb, or Perez for that matter.
The points are the goal and Lance is in fourth place in the driver’s championship. Lance was not a second slower than Massa even though it was his first year in F1. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Latest move w Vettel suggests that Daddy Stroll is giving Baby Stroll the best available racing education money can buy, probably also at a massive discount. This also plays out nicely for Seb's fragile ego right now because Baby Stroll poses zero threat and is a clear, distant #2 driver. This also plays out nicely for us armchair experts, because personally, if Stroll gives Seb a hard time, it will only further lament my opinion of how overrated Seb is. Struggling w stroller will be the final nail in the coffin and no top team on the grid will even give Seb a third look. Love how this is playing out and looking forward to 2021.
