The point only exists because of Snaf's comments. To call Stroll ''one of the most gifted drivers in F1'', when his speed and racecraft are not truly part of that equation, his only other true asset is his fathers' enormous wealth. If that is part of the yard stick now...well yes, then the odds are indeed in Stroll's favour.

Sane people however measure a drivers talent by his abilities rather than sacks of money.

I dunno...but he's way miles better than Latifi and Mazepin. Not so sure what the hate is all about. He generally keeps his nose clean during races, and stay out of trouble save for 1-2 time of some nonsense. But i rate him much higher than Kev mag, Romain Gros, Ericsson..

    Disagree with that...

Latifi has improved significantly this year (also only his 2nd year). Mazepin is not doing as bad as people hope.

Rating him higher than Kmag and Grosjean? Really? Ericsson yes.

With insights, I believe Romain and Magnussen have done a very good job in Haas.
Since three years the car was absolutely unbalanced and unpredictable ( Ferrari aéro troubles?)
    Grosjean is fast.

Yep. The Haas is 3 years old now. The 2019 car was **** and they didn't do much with it. They decided to focus on the 2021 car as the 2019 car wasn't fixable within their budget...and then the rules get pushed back a year. Biggest upgrade that car got was someone took a hacksaw to the floor to make it 2021 legal and someone painted the car white.

Grosjean was very fast against Kimi but inconsistent. What the Indycar season shown this year is that he very much is the real deal. Is the damage he did to his F1 reputation self inflicted? Yes I'd say so, to a certain degree. But driving a car with the aero he did making it particularly prone to spinning, also didn't help matters. Had he moved from Haas to Indy after the 2016 season we'd perhaps be talking about the guy that left F1 too soon...lol (and I'm saying that as someone that was highly critical of him during his F1 years!)

Keving and Romain would drive circles around Lancelot, and Latitfi is better than he was when he had the same experience, in fact Latifi is one of the good surprises for me, i thought he was rubbish but he's getting better at a much faster rate than lancelot ever did.

Time for Vettel to retire, I think.

Driving a Merc copy with Merc engine and components and going nowhere.

I know Kimi is more popular but let's be honest, they are both working for a paycheck this season. Nothing more, nothing less.

Seb hasn't bounced back since he lost his 2nd place finish in Hungary.

The fact that Vettel finished second in Hungary shows he could still be a contender in the right car.
The reason Red Bull is out front is because of the rule changed that hurt Mercedes and crippled Aston Martin. Aston would have been in 3rd place last year if not for the clonegate 15 point penalty. This year the car is struggling because of those imposed changes. Put Stroll and Vettel in this years McLaren and they’d be in 3rd again.
I hope next year’s Aston is a better solution.

Partially true. The reason also that RedBull along with Max can go toe-to-toe with Mercedes is because of Honda.

That Honda PU has also helped Gasly as well.

That experiment was stupid, no question. However Stroll was well ahead of Vettel, who was out of the points and so it made a lot more sense to try this with Seb than with Lance.

Even without that experiment (which created at least some great footage for the next Bond movie) Vettel wouldn't have ended up in the points.
