Lance could have a viable career in Indycar.

But why would his father buy him a seat in Indycar when he owns a F1 team ?

Because his car company is taking on water and the F1 team is going backwards. Lance could win races in a front line Indycar team.

The Aston Martin car company received another $500M of investment from the Middle East just last week.
Do you believe people are so badly informed they keep putting money in a business about to go turtle?

F1 is the big unknown, but a lot of money is invested in equipment in the F1 team, to the point that it attracts Red Bull staff now.
Some insiders call Aston Martin "the new Red Bull", in the way the owner tries to turn it into a top team of the future. We will see.

I don't think Indycar has the same appeal to the Strolls than F1. I may be wrong though ...

What happened to Stroll???? Vettel ended up P6 and in the points and Stroll P12. Was Stroll waiting for the race to come to him??? Isn't Stroll somewhat better in the wet?

Pit strategy. Late tire change that didn't pan out. Was a stupid decision by the team.

Did you see how many places he passed at the race start?

Yep. He took a risky next to pit lane barrier at the start.

Lance showing his "race-craft" against Alonso.

I really do. He didn't see Alonso overtaking him on his left?.....Yes he did and moved left trying to block an overtaking Alonso and BAAAAM!

It looked to me that Alonso had plenty of room to overtake on the left, but wanted to brush past Stroll's car.

Stroll hardly moved, but Alonso carelessly drove too close, IMO, and then the s*** hit the fan.

It's hard to say someone tries to block you when the track is so wide !

Disagree that Stroll hardly moved. Stroll moved left.

Yes, very slightly. I wouldn't call that blocking, in view of the track width at this point.

    Let's agree to disagree.

The fact is that the FIA wants a culprit for every racing incident now; that's the new culture in F1.

Yup. Even small moves are an absolute no-no. At least Stroll accepts it.

    Oh wait. He doesn't.

Stroll: I gave Alonso "plenty of room" in United States GP crash (autosport.com)

I can't believe my eyes reading this. If this is his actual stance he needs to take a holiday. Moving is one thing, but late blocking like that is crazy. To then not accept your fault shows severe lack of judgement and responsibility.

It’s typical of all his accidents: no spatial awareness and just turns and hopes for the best.

Yup...and the fact he refuses to accept any responsibility for this is beyond me. This isn't Ford Fiesta regional weekend racing. This is F1. Doing F1 speeds.

An inch more at impact or it happening 2 meters earlier would've ended very, very differently. Alonso was heading right for that car recovery turn in. I'd have to think what could've happened. We've seen the Grosjean crash and how close that was to him burning to a crisp.

A severe punishment needs to be laid out, especially if he remains of this opinion. "defending" like that is absolutely not fine.
