It's important as far as the dividend they receive from Liberty is based on their ranking in the WCC. But some teams are not short of cash to finance their operations, and some even make lots of profit since the budget cap was introduced. But there is a fly in the ointment that was introduced in recent years, a reduction affecting development time in the following year. I am not familiar with the details, but I understood it could mean for the 3 first teams, less wind tunnel and simulation time, the next season. So, there are maybe advantages being "best-in-the-class", there are also drawbacks.
Results = big sponsorship dollars. Results = attracts the best drivers. WCC standings matter to teams. Teams need both drivers to perform. Perez doesn't get a pass because Max did it all by himself. Stroll shouldn't get a pass because his dad owns the team.
Too quick lol????? Its been years lol. Aston Martin: People "judge too quickly" amid Stroll incident criticism Aston Martin's Mike Krack thinks people "judge too quickly" in the wake of criticism Lance Stroll received for shoving his trainer at Formula 1's Qatar Grand Prix.
He is right. People interpret things negatively without knowing. Horseplaying with a team member isn't necessarilly "shoving", mostly between individuals who work closely. But it suits the naysayers narrative to depict it as a physical assault.
Stroll hasn't scored a single point in the last 4 races. I have'nt been "judging too quickly." I judged when he got into the Williams 7 years ago and so far to this day, I have been right about him.
Look, Krack gets a paycheck just like Alonso does as well. Anyone in upper management, to include their lead driver, will say anything to not "ruffle the feathers" of Lawrence Stroll about his son.....which is smart but we all know is hypocritical at the same time.
+1 - Lance has never had a season where his talent was showing any future promise outside of driving around in elongated circles almost bored lol.
Aston Martin's Mike Krack thinks people "judge too quickly" in the wake of criticism Lance Stroll received for shoving his trainer at Formula 1's Qatar Grand Prix. Mike Krack was refering to an alleged incident that happened last Sunday, a molehill the media have turned into a mountain. How did you know about that 7 years ago?
He shouldn't have a secure seat in F1. If you suck, typically you are out of a job. Fans and media shouldn't find it acceptable to be such an under-performer. Bring on the criticism, he certainly hasn't earned any praises lately. Who decides? Well it should be up to the Team Principle, and an assortment of team management. Anyone with half a brain knows he doesnt deserve a drive and he is holding the team back, and is financially hurting the team. But we all know Dad decides which is part of the problem.
The bottom line is that big daddy Stroll went through all of this to give his son the best possible opportunity to succeed in F1. I don't think anything has changed with that.
It's all hot air. Can you quote the FIA rule that says that an "underperforming driver" has to quit F1 ? If you find something along these lines, please share it with us. Who are "the Team Principle, and an assortment of team management." to decide? Since when? You make it up ! It's only people getting above their station who think that they can dictate to Lawrence Stroll how to run his team. It's really laughable.
