'play' is the operative part of the word. When you are pissed off and shove someone who is trying to calm you down you are not 'playing'

I didn't say he should quit. I said he should get fired.

What's laughable is creaming over a guy that never earned his way and only got where he is because his dad is rich. But if you want to be one of the few to like their little loser project, go ahead. Maybe you have something in common with them and that's why you defend them so hard.

    To each their own.

I will continue to laugh at the massive failure the Strolls have been in F1. Them being rich doesn't impress me in the least.

Money don't buy you a Superlicence, results in lower categories do. Lance Stroll ticked that box.

I don't care if I am the only one; I just don't like armchair critics deciding who should be in or out. It stinks !!!

Yeah it makes a lot more sense to just be able to buy your way into everything. Results speak for themselves, even if you don't want to acknowledge it.

Money sure did buy his way into F1. He dominated his F3 season, crushing George Russell, yet has proven he is an abysmal F1 driver. Guess money buying the best team did something. Still had to pay to get into Williams. When nobody wanted him, money bought an entire F1 team to keep him in F1. Money is the only thing that got him into F1.

No teams want him. He isn't a likeable person. Sponsors are uninterested in him. The other drivers don't seem to like him or even respect him. The fans and media are wrecking him weekly for how poor he is as a driver.

I think it's far behind any "armchair critic" that says he shouldn't be in F1.

It's not just "arm chair" critics, but you got articles of Lance Strolls weak performance not to mention Nico Rosberg chiming in on Strolls performance or lack thereof.

Mostly everyone in the F1 circles sees it(lack of performance) as of late.

You can repeat this ad nauseam if you want,
Lance Stroll will be in F1 as long as he wants to, or his father gives him a drive, and there is nothing you can do about it.
You better get used to it ! F1 isn't a popularity contest.

Lawrence Stroll: Lance’s season undermined by ‘bad luck’
Lawrence Stroll: Lance’s season undermined by ‘bad luck’ (gptoday.com)

Aston Martin F1 co-owner Lawrence Stroll believes that his son’s challenging season has been a story of “bad luck” but team boss Mike Krack says that Lance Stroll’s struggles are also likely the result of changes to the team’s car.
Stroll's results in F1 have somewhat stagnated in the past few seasons, with noteworthy performances few and far between.
The Canadian was outscored by Sebastian Vettel in 2022, but the 24-year-old has been properly dominated by Fernando Alonso this year.
Mitigating circumstances were taken into consideration at the start of the 2023 campaign as Stroll recovered from injuries sustained in an off-season cycling crash.
Oddly, his deficit to Alonso was smaller during the opening races of the season during which he qualified consistently among the top ten, also finishing in the points on race day.
But thereafter, Stroll’s performances declined even as Alonso continued this run of podiums in the upper tier of the field.
    • Since the Austrian Grand Prix in early July, Stroll has only scored three points compared to Alonso’s tally of 52, a shortfall that has led to legitimate questions regarding the Canadian’s future with his father’s team.
But Stroll Sr believes that his son’s hardship this season is mostly a case of hard luck.
“Lance started the year on the back foot with two broken wrists for the first half-dozen races, which was very challenging, but really did a heroic job - and he's had an unfortunate amount of bad luck," Lawrence Stroll told Sky Sports.
"He's had nine retirements due to engine failures, or a rear-wing fail [at the Japanese Grand Prix].
"Half of the races it hasn't been anything to do with his own abilities, he has just had a lot of bad luck, sadly."

While ill fortune has perhaps been a factor in Stroll’s poor results, it’s undeniable that his absolute performance relative to Alonso has fallen off a cliff since mid-summer.
"Yeah, there's things for sure,” said Stroll in Qatar last time out. “There’re always things in every car, I mean, but I think when the car has been really good this year, I've been really happy with it. And it's just recently it's been a bit more challenging."
Aston team principal Mike Krack has theorized that Stroll’s struggles are rooted in the changes undergone by Team Silverstone’s AMR23 in the second half of the season and in the handling characteristics that followed, especially regarding the car’s rear end which has become a less predictable proposition as far as Stroll is concerned.
"I think we need to prove it first," Krack said, regarding his assumption.
"The fact is that he has lost a bit of competitivity, and this is something we need to understand.
"We have suspicions and indications, and this is I think what Lance is referring to. But then we need to make the according changes and see, if this is confirmed, that if you improve that, he improves as well."

Solving Stroll’s predicament is complicated by the fact that on the other side of the Aston garage, Alonso seems quite happy with the behaviour of his car, although the Spaniard’s style is perhaps better suited to the AMR23’s current profile.
But Krack doesn’t believe that the contrast between his drivers’ styles is a key factor in Stroll’s difficulties.
"No, I think at the end of the day you normally do not go completely into such small detail in terms of understanding,” he said.
"In our case, when you have difficulties, you normally learn more, and you go into much more detail than you would do if you were just fine. It's the normal thing. And I think that we will go through a great learning exercise in that regard."

He has had 7 years of failed opportunity meetings lol. Time for sonny boy to hit the yacht and for other talent to move in. Considering the father had to literally speak up is quite interesting and says alot about how badly Lance is overall. Daddy is the last defender.

Pfft - what does an F1 world Champion know about performance?
F1 isn't a meritocracy, I have no idea where you got the idea that performance is a deciding factor in someone's right to be there?

    /s

Stroll is a clown, by all means be **** on your own time - but throwing stuff around, being rude to the media, pushing your colleagues in the workplace and having your daddy chime in to defend you are terrible looks for the sport.

F1 is about performance, sink or swim.

Do you think Stroll would have kept his seat at Red Bull if he were there and was performing like this?

    Not a chance.

Or Kevin Magnussen ? ( and I like him !) or Grosjean ?

Or all these Japanese pay drivers who came to F1 over the years thanks to Honda ? Nakajima, Suzuki, Sato, Kobayashi, etc ...

Dad to the rescue with a factless delusional statement. How embarrassing to have your daddy come out and defend why you suck so bad, to the extent he has to lie to save face. Another L for the Stroll family.

Keep throwing out names. Did anyone defend those drivers as being long term deserving drivers either? Everyone knew about the Japanese connection drivers like Sato, and most thought he didn't deserve to be in F1 either. At least he was good enough to win the Indy 500 twice along with other races.

Grosjean was a 7x champion before entering F1. He stunk up the show and people felt he didn't deserve to be in F1 either. He was far better than Stroll.

Magnussen has at least beat a teammate before. He too is a lot better than Stroll, and I don't think you will find many that think Kevin is an amazing F1 driver.

Probably Lance isn't the least embarrassed.
Because he is a rich kid, he must have come across criticism and jealousy all his life, and grew a thick skin because of it.
You, making a big meal out of it, show that you are more tormented than he is. ;)

Most of them spent a good few years in F1; and none of them came out with a very good score in the WDC either.

I don't recall many questioning their place in F1 at the time, or asking them to be thrown out either.

It seems the internet now gives some people balls they wouldn't have otherwise ...

    Truly pathetic ...
