I think he just realize what a driver like Alonso can do with the very same car.
Yes he did a good race yesterday but his ego is badly and definitively damaged by a 42 years old outstanding driver I guess..

Ah, good morning sunshine. Did you recover from the race? Must have been hell for you to watch: Seeing Lance steadfast on 5th and then your ultimate nemesis driving sensationally and ending up on the podium.

    Not my point.
He’s enough gifted to be a sub midfield Formula One driver which is already a LOT better compared with all of us including myself.
I just wanted to speculate about his droopy face after this Grand Prix.
Do you really believe he’s immune from feeling deeply humiliated by Alonso performance during this Grand Prix ?

I may be wrong, but I suspect Lance of being a rather shy character and not enjoying media attention.
I don't see further than that.

    Maybe you are right.
    Who knows ?
It was just for the sake of speculating.
Some here are very nervous when we discuss about Stroll.
    I don’t know why ?:p

Because it's mostly negative, and some of us don't think anyone deserves that level of flak all the time.

    Humiliated?

Hell no. Lance drove great and came in after Alonso. And not even that far off, his distance was even closing (IIRC down to 9 seconds). Alonso is a two times WDC (and given his immense talent likely more if he had been in the right car), so it is only natural he beats Lance. Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

I don't know what Lance is thinking but if I were in his shoes I'd realize that I'm not WDC material but good enough to be among the best drivers of the world and enjoy the races and try for a podium once in a while. Exactly what one can expect from a journeyman in F1. Nothing wrong with that.

If anybody got humiliated then it was the MB drivers. Sky commentators were shocked but the reading was on the wall in the sprint race: Hamilton lost a second per lap. Do the math and that's where he ended up in the race. That's humiliating. Not so much for the drivers but for the team. Or Ferrari screwing Chuck over. That's humiliating too.

Mostly undeserved too. People have a fixation about his personality.
They now enjoy his decline. I said before he should have retired.

I can't understand people who keep comparing Lance with Alonso, or Vettel before
For Christ's sake, they were WDC and in a different league.
    Nothing wrong being a journeyman.

The comparison is NOT JUST with Vettel and Alonso, the comparison is also that Lance had the 2nd fastest car on the grid from the beginning of the season ALL THE WAY to mid-season and yet Lance still managed a mid-field pace during qualifying and the race....but I guess according to some on hear, that's the expectation of a "journeyman."

So given the excuse that Lance is a journeyman, no matter IF the car is at the top with let's say RedBulls RB-19, Lance will still give you sub-par performance in a top level car....yes? Because this was proven in the 1st half of the 2023 season-->Lance never has shown progress in the beginning of the 2023 season with a 2nd place car..let alone his 7 years in F1.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Aston Martin F1 will be mid-field team regardless of the pace of the car, because Lance will consistently give you mid-field performance time and time again.

It's ridiculous to expect 2 drivers having the same car to necessarily deliver the same performance.
I would think that's obvious, but the penny hasn't dropped for you yet.
For example look at specs series, the Porsche Cup for instance, it shows a large variety of talents, yet they all drive the "fastest" car !!!
Look at Indy, the best car if a Dalarra, the winner's car, but it's also the car of the guy who comes 33rd and last.
Maybe you should consider why it is like that.

I DON'T expect 2 drivers of the same car to deliver the same performance but jeezus, a paltry performance by the 2nd driver in the 2nd fastest car from the beginning to mid-season is I guess typical to some from a journeyman driver.
