Lance Strolls car(F3) was found illegal because it used illegal parts that Williams Racing made in the car.

I suggest you look at the video if you haven't already. It might give you some insight into the Strolls F3 days.

Exactly. The guy raced. the guy had good results. There's no "grassy knoll" here.

So the father issuing team orders to his sons team-mates in F3 is good racing in your eye's thereby having "good results."

Explain how Lance Stroll won the F3 series if his car was illegal. That qualified him for his Superlicence, right?

Were team orders forbidden in that series ? If not, Stroll broke no rule.

I believe he was banned from that race only.

I didn't say Stroll Sr. broke a rule by issuing team orders but it doesn't make for good racing between team mates when the owner of the team favors his son now does it?

I guess that's okay in your eyes?

The record shows that in 2015, Lance Stroll was disqualified for the 3rd race of the weekend at Monza, and excluded also from the 3rd race at Spa. I believe the DSQ was for a tech infringement, and the exclusion was for dangerous driving in previous race. Many drivers fall foul of the rules in their young years. Lance Stroll didn't get away with anything.

It seems that you suddenly discovered the reality of team orders.
Motor racing is regulated by rules, not by what is wrong in your eyes, and right in mine.
If no rules were broken, there is no case to answer.
You cannot make your "rules" as you go along because you despise someone.

I realize that, but it would seem that Lance Strolls accumulated points in F3 were a farce due to team orders in every race. Which is why Lance Stroll has struggled in F1.

Again, this isn't Lance Strolls fault but his father "manipulating" the game to favor his son in F3. Unfortunately, Lawrence Stroll cannot manipulate F1 to favor his son because of the exposure of F1 and everything around it.

You guys go right ahead and cheer Lance Stroll in F1 but mostly the general public that's tuned into F1 knows where Lance Stroll stands.....not that Stroll Sr. or Lance Strolls cares any way shape or form.

Many promising drivers in lower categories became very ordinary once they got to F1.
Lance Stroll is in good company there; he is not a F1 top driver by a journeyman.
I guess the Strolls ignore the detractors, and I understand that.

You still suffer from the naive idea that F1 is based on meritocracy. It isn't. Moral questions of fairness do not play into a sport that is run by money.

That's an overall view of F1 and I get what you're saying but we are talking about F3 where it is literally a spec series. Nice try though.

So going forward then, you and @william have no problem a Billionare buying a F3 team and "gaming" the system to manipulate the F3 team to enhance their sons drive to further their sons aspirations into F2 and F1 OR jump F2 and straight into F1 then?

F3 may be a spec series but it is populated by drivers with VERY wealthy families that do whatever it takes to gain an advantage. They exploit all kinds of loopholes and throw cubic dollars after success. No different to any other kind of motorsport and using the 'spec series' argument is a fallacy.

Last year I was in Europe with the managers of some young drivers and they were all in admiration of how well Stroll Sr. plays the game. People forget that he is not wealthier than many of his counterparts but he is much more clever at understanding the big picture and how to optimize it. Everyone jabs Stroll for being a rich guy who bought his success but that is totally incorrect. If people should be jealous of his extreme intelligence as that is his greatest asset. His success rate at all of the ventures he has applied himself to is evidence of that.

You are like Massa, talking about stuff that happened years ago, and wanting to put the world to right.
But who is bothered about that now, mostly not in F1 which has become an entertainement ?
Enjoy the sport as it is ...

Luckily, the Billionare Latifi's and Mazepin's at least knew when it was time to quit F1 instead of making themselves look like fools and trying instill their wealth and power to further their "inadequate" sons into F1. They also didn't "game" F3 or F2 to further their sons aspirations or game the system.

And don't compare me like Massa, at least there are Billionare's out there that know when to "throw in the towel" and play fair in F3.

Latifi spent more years in F2 (and GP2) than anyone barely squeaking enough points to get a superlicence. Very much a game of the system and all the power to him. No rules were broken. His family then spent money in both McLaren and Williams only for him to languish at the back at a time when Williams desperately needed his money. His F1 career did not end on his terms he was eventually forced out when Williams had better options at their disposal. Same too for Mazepin who literally ran out of money when his Fathers assets were frozen. Neither 'knew when it was time to quit' and both would still be in F1 if they could.

So you too would admit that IF you owned an F3 team, you would use team orders to manipulate your sons advancement knowing your son literally sucks in motorsport? Yes? Because it seems you, @tifosi12, and @william are in agreement with this ideology in F3....."Do whatever it takes and trounce anyone that comes in your way" attitude....even if it's illegal.

Well, niether Latifi Sr. or Mazepin Sr. didn't buy their sons an F1 seat unlike Stroll Sr. At least the Latifis and Mazepins got into F1 the "right" way by either 1) Sponsorship 2) talent or both.

What people do is their business. You seem to have a gripe against Billionaires, I have to say.
Is it better when it's politics, or a sponsor who keeps an average driver in F1 against the odds?

Mazepin was told to leave F1 because of the sanctions; not his choice apparently.
Latifi found his limits when Williams didn't renew his contract.
In any case, I believe than Lance Stroll was better than them, and more deserving to keep his seat.
Lance Stroll's resume is better than many drivers on the grid !
But you refuse to accept that.
I think his inevitable retirement one day will put you out of your misery.
And you will feel that you have won something !!!

Get off your moral high horse. ANYBODY in F1 (and from what Nuvolari is saying in F3 as well) would do ANYTHING to gain an advantage. Has been like this for decades. The days of gentlemen racing are long gone.

Stroll Sr. reminds me a lot of Briatore (just to name one) and that's a compliment.

Oh and to answer the question: yes

Also, George Russell voiced concerns while in F3 with the Strolls and what they were doing for the series.

The discussion is getting a bit heated here? Fire up the Wayback Machine and look up Brett Lunger, he was a wealthy guy in F1 who was respected.
