True but is he showing the talent of his peer group. Not much in my opinion. He seems to be on the marginal end
He has 9 years racing experience, 23 races and more test km's than 99% of the field. Compared to F1 of old he is a veteran. Age is a meaningless stat in modern F1.
209cm Shaq is something else...2.16. Freak I did like playing basketball. Played rugby for a good time also but permanent shoulder injury (unrelated to Rugby) means even just the odd weekend game is not possible anymore.
I think Perez is massively overrated. I don't think he will get crushed but swapping teams mid season will probably hurt him a little yes.
Ovverrated by who exactly? I never read or heard anybody praising him. I like him because of his personality, and the fact I like Mexicans in general, but Perez is just a honest journeyman in F1. His driving isn't exceptional, but mostly steady. Not many other drivers complain about him, so he must be fair. He brings some sponsorship in F1, so maybe that's why his career recovered after he was sacked from McLaren. I don't overrate Perez, I just like him.
Stroller ends up P10 at Monza 2018 just like his qualifying BUT moves up one place along with everyone behind P6 due to GRO's disqualification.
Yuuuuuge celebration for the Stroller . . . He is doing "puzzles" now. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2018/9/_we-pieced-the-puzzle-together--stroll-hails-fantastic-p10.html
Considering he has raced here in F4, F3, done private testing and came 7th last year that was expected?
You? You like him. If you have never read anything about him being praised then you don't follow F1 closely.
I do follow F1 closely enough, and Perez hardly ever makes the headlines. Perez is not a F1 star, but a decent driver.
He should be driving competent at every race. Not asking for more. Just that would be an improvement. That said he also only finished 5 seconds ahead of his teammate on an identical strategy.
Next season, when he's with a better team will be telling. One can praise or question his competency until the cows come home, but it really doesn't mean much when his car is the worst on the grid. I forgot about McLaren . . . . second worst on the grid.
