Roger Clemens had affair???

It's not shaping up to be a good year for Clemens. I just read a report that he may have had an affair with Mindy McCready (country singer/one-hit wonder). The kicker...she was 15 when they first became "friends".

In totally unrelated news, time has been very, very hard on Mindy McCready.

The part I find the most bizarre is that he befriended her at 15 while she was singing karaoke in a bar?WTF?

"Hi Honey! This is my new friend Mindy. She was singing karaoke at the bar the other night and I thought she has that something."

 

When did they start letting 15 year olds in to bars to sing karaoke?

 

That's what I say. But it also appears that they may have edited the original column. It no longer says that, yet it did when I read it early this afternoon. It also mentioned that he was there with a teammate.

 

Any ounce of respect that I had for Roger is completely gone now. This man has gone from one of the greatest to ever play to a complete mockery of baseball. I'd like to see him dig himself out of this hole.

It's obvious that steroids affect your vision too. Mindy is not much of a looker.

 

She was back in the day. I would have to assume that she's been riding the gravy train ever since (article says that Clemens sent her cash a year or two ago when she had legal troubles) in exchange for her silence.

everyone makes mistakes, and, well, roger clemens in my mind has very little credibility left (yes, i can change my mind if it's proven he never took steroids, max, etc.) 15 years old, hmm...(shaking my head)

 

That must be been WAAAAAY back before...

In today's Daily News, she confirms the affair. Ha! What a dunce! Filing that defamation lawsuit was the dumbest thing this guy has ever done.

Although she does say she wasn't 15 when their affair began. So I guess it happened when she turned 16? 17?

I'm just waiting for Clemens to explode on camera and just start spitting out the truth.

That would be convenient but it is still valuable to Clemen's legal adversary.

Yep. If he lied to Congress, filing this defamation suit was really dumb forgetting about how dumb it would be to lie to Congress. He can't get out of it either because if he drops his lawsuit, the trainer's lawyers will most likely then sue Clemens (because they smell $$$) and these same issues will be before the court again. If he tries to strike a deal to drop the suit and keep the trainer's lawyers from suing him by paying, this would probably make federal prosecutors sit up and take notice.

He filed the suit betting the farm that it was a he said/he said matter that with no concrete proof would be ajudicated in Clemen's favor. This was okay provided that Clemen's was squeaky clean. If Clemens is squeaky clean, then I agree with filing suit. If Clemens is not squeaky clean, filing suit was a huge mistake.

What happened with the needles and gauze pads they were DNA testing? I can guaranty you that there are Federal prosecutors waiting to comb through the depositions in this case...

 

Here's a real shocker...

Wonder how long before she's named the new spokeswoman for Jenny Craig?
