Martin, Roland, and others are telling fibs again!

Martin you couldn't possibly run 90-100 in the French Quarter....right? Roland how is it possible that you were on the rev limiter at 200mph (you meant 20 right)? You must have been reving the engine for the crowds. You couldn't go over 9-10mph with that long line of Ferrari's...right?! You are telling fibs again...right? Ferrari drivers like to TALK alot...just causes trouble when you tell fibs like this. Read my New Orleans article thread...particularly the link to the New Orleans paper. We Ferrari drivers need to celebrate the passion in person and not write little fibs where jealous people might "misunderstand". You were going 9-10mph...I understand if you tell me 9-10 mph. Roland didn't hit 200 he meant 20 didn't he? Not possible to hit 200 anyway in New Orleans....even if you wanted to...there is not enough open road. You guys are worse than fisherman with their big fish stories. We are all passionate about the cars but aren't we known to be discreetly passionate(we drive Ferrari not Lamborghini)...after all we don't want others getting jealous and ruining our parties. I hope you all had a great time... I certainly did... I loved rolling slowly by all those French quarter girls...nice, relaxed and easy. Plenty of time for them to admire me...errr the car....admire the car. I love a nice Sunday drive...don't you?

    Best Regards,
    Christopher

Our speed run were done on the closed freeeway !! I don't know about speeding in the Quaters but only about burning tires..People watching us loved it and it was done under Police control/escort.
Only in these conditions, the participants could show off their cars.
I loved it because of the safe environement.
Only N.O best could offer that.

Roland, just so long as no animals were harmed during the production (here's one to you William), no harm done, eh?

I am glad you picked up on that Brian... wasn't sure if everyone was understanding my words... By the way, I did a relaxing 11 mph yesterday on my way home.

Markus, we missed you.....you must come with Roland and the "Colorado Cowboys" next year....

I believe Franco's last minute verbal instructions to me were "take it easy thru the Quarter"...and that's exactly what I did...........don't think I got out of second gear.........

Must be why it's called 'The Big Easy'!!!!!!

    I don't really know...just guessing.........

Roland is not exagerating on this as I was right behind him in my Enzo - the trick was to let the car in front get way ahead of you and then go. Two years ago my F-50 with Eric VandePoole driving hit 130 in the French Quarter - I saw the speedo - this year they did slow it down - I didn't get over 100 much. They had 120 motorcycle cops to close the streets.
But we went much faster on I 10!
The event is invitation only and the organizers judge your driving capabilities before a return invitation is offered. Most are very good drivers. The track is terrific - I keep my 333 sp and Challenge car in Baton Rouge so I can run there.
The best part of the event is all the money goes to charity - not into the pockets of a magazine publisher like the Cavalino - which I don't do anymore.
I'm enclosing a few short movies including us outrunning a helo, running next to my 360 Challenge "police car" and a speedo shot of the enzo. On the way to the race track...

THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Apparently some people did not see the article in the Times Pickyanose here in New Orleans. Anymore ammo does not need to be given to a reporter who would like nothing more than to crucify the local organizers and the police for allowing this event

I know that you are kidding about the speeds, and that those speed are impossible, but some reporter cannot read sarcasim in your voice, so please dont tease these guys. As one of the producers, I'd ask you not to joke like this, because it would be very easy for some reporter to get on Ferrarichat missinterpret your jokes and get Franco and I into some trouble.

I never exceeded 25mph in the quarter. We cruised on I10 out to the track at sedate and normal speeds.

I even had a N.O. cop wave me past on the highway because he thought we were not going as fast as we should. (That is the straight truth too).

The last thing I want to see is a ton of N.O. reporters all over the next event trying to stir up trouble. There are lots of people out there who automatically hate anyone with a Ferrari and they are very receptive to any news story showing Ferrari owners getting told "no" or getting in trouble. Its no surprise some cheesy reporter wants to exploit this to make a name for himself. Makes me sick.

This is an amazing event, the most fun car event I have ever attended. N.O, was a fantastic host, nobody got hurt, everyone had fun and anyone who was offended: get a freaking life.
