    an original stainless rolex bubbleback-the first practical self-winding watch. c.1938. Beautiful original dial and crown. movement overhauled and running perfectly. quiet movement rotor-the rotor axels often wear but this one is smooth and like new. crown and tube threads are excellent.     Case dimensions please. My guess is that it's about 25 mm

    larger than that-takes a 16-17mm strap. i will measure and get back to you. thanks

    case diameter is about 32mm. case is 40mm from lug to lug. a piece of rolex and watchmaking history-the first practical self-winding watch. rare in this condition with an original dial.

    Reference number on the watch is 2940, correct for the era and for a bubbleback. The outer case back is new old stock and the case back still has the rolex handwritten notes affixed.
