Wasn't supposed to rain til late in the evening. As the cars are on their recon laps the trees start to bend over and the wind blew the sand traps into dust storms. I headed to the car parked on the fence in turn 7. Got on the full rainsuit and Macgyvered a shopping bag on my camera. It was a monsoon. A lot of bad pics pushing buttons under a plastic bag but here's some of what I have.

Thanks for the photos - we watched most of the event on tv yesterday. I can't believe this series does not allow intermediates. Am I right in seeing that the first photo and the orange car that Ricky Taylor drove are just like the NASCAR's with bodies with decals for headlights? I know the others have real lights - giveaway is the Hella above them.

Hopefully conditions won't be similar for the ALMS race. Entry list is not yet posted for Mid-Ohio but Lime Rock is Audi #1 TBA (I'm spectulating Allan and Dindo may run the remainder of the ALMS season as there's not conflicts with their remaining LMS races); Vici has both cars TBA; there's another Ford GT running (Pappas and Lazarro). Time will tell who's doing what.

Look closer. The RumBum car has cheapo decals and lights. The 47 has better decals and lights. Yes, like NASCAR decals. The 99 and the 09 have no decals.

I ordered a real storm cover for the camera today. I'll have 4 big umbrellas in the trunk. Let in rain for the ALMS.

Thanks for the terrific photos Michael. One of my two favoritie domestic racing facilities. I watched this on TV, too bad it ended in a yellow.

But those GT cars, whatever they call them, are so UGLY!! Repulsive is a better word.

Some of the John Deere lawn tractors are really nice looking compared to these NASCAR sports cars.

A wet race is great for photos. It's just no fun standing in the rain taking them.

    Very nice shots.

Thanks for the shots. I forgot to record the race.

Anyone have a clue if/when they will rebroadcast?

Great pictures! I watched some of the race and saw some excellent racing action in the rain.
