From the below picture, where is the roll over shut off valve? I am asking because I suspect my roll over shut off valve is leaking as I smell gasoline vapor only under the condition of (Turn a corner very hard after filling the tank up all the way up, will not have issue if I fill it half way)

I was told that in order to remove the roll over shut off valve I will need to remove the entire convertible top assembly to get to the valve. My 02 spider came with a access panel under the convertible top storage area, which allows access to the top of the fuel tank to the fuel pump and level sending unit. (See picture) I was under the impression the roll over shut off valve is located somewhere else, but from looking at this picture posted by Universal Motorsports, there is no other valve else where. So where is that valve?

There is an inertia switch located on the left side of the driver footwell area. In case of accident it trips the switch and shuts off ignition and fuel pump. I am not aware of any switch in the engine compartment.

In 360 and 430 Challenge cars the switch is plainly visible with a rubber boot over it. In passenger cars I recall it has a rubber grommet over it just to the left of driver's left knee position.

You reset it by pressing down on the rubber boot over the switch.

I think he's right (above) it's a switch on the fuel pump electrical circuit, not a "valve".....

Well, I may be wrong with my wording. I am aware of the electronic inertia shut off valve by the footwell area.

Here is a better description of it
"The orange vapor/roll-over valves on the top of the fuels tanks have a gasket/grommet at the bottom where they fit into the tank. Since the tanks are silver, it is easy to see evidence of fuel seepage. You will need to remove the side panels to gain access to this area.
The orange valves are the updated parts and there is an updated gasket that is green.
P/N for this is 195049. Make sure you have the colorful upgrades on your car. ;-)"

Here is a link that talk about this some more, I believe this is a common issue on the 360, just more difficult to repair with a spider. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228860&highlight=convertible+top

Robin- When all else fails, read the Owner's Manual. On page 4.31 of your OM is a description of, and the location of, the Fuel Supply Interruption Inertia Switch in the passenger compartment.

I saw that comment on the switch in another thread and thought they were wrong. Did not bother to look it up until now. Unless whoever it was was describing something else.

You are correct with your wording. It is their reading comprehension that needs work.

They go in the empty holes in the picture.

    Take the top out.

Thanks Brian, that's what I was afraid of. So looks like it is a top out job for me. Well, the bright side is at least my cherry picker will finally come in good use.

Brian- I see what you mean. It is the valve that is leaking, not a problem with the switch. Need to read more carefully.
