I just received the March/April issue of The Flying Lady - this is the official Rolls-Royce Owners Club bimonthly magazine.

There is a superb article on a model that Wingrove did of the 1912 Silver Ghost number 1826E - the care was nicknamed "Mystery" by Claude Johnson, one of the early directors of the Rolls-Royce company.

Needless to say, this is a magnificent model in 1/15 (Wingrove's preferred scale). If you know Mr. Wingrove's work, you will know what I mean.

The article includes numerous color plates of the model, B&W photos of the original car, which still exists, a history of the prototype, and even the line drawings Wingrove did of the prototype before constructing the model.

I am working on getting some PDF images of these images to post here - but if someone else happens to be a RR owner or Club member and can beat me to the punch, please feel free to post on this thread for everyone to enjoy.

There is a website listed to look at a review of the building of this model:

    1912 40/50 Rolls-Royce London-Edinburgh Tourer in 1.15th scale

Unfortunately, my browser will bring it up but I have not figured out how to make the video play.

I am calling the RROC today to see if it is ok to reproduce their photo spread to post here.

You probably won't get a reply until next week. The staff is returning home from the Orlando national meet which wrapped-up last night. Great time, but about two days too long of an event. There were 5 or 6 Silver Ghosts present at the show.

Thanks- I forgot about that meet. I only got a recording from the central office.

Will check again next week; this model is worth the effort.

Did you have trouble getting it to play? My browser only shows a black box with an "X" in the upper left corner - and I could not figure out how to get the controls to appear...

Mine says it needs a plugin but doesn't identify which one or where to find it. I didn't spend any time pursuing it as I've seen Wingrove's books and figured that was probably good enough.

You need QuickTime from Apple to view it, which is very 1998, but worth the trouble.

Awesome video, he has amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail.
