    Hi guys,

Picked up a Roma a few days ago. 8k miles and a 22 yr car. She is wonderful.

However, when cruising this evening without my music play - I noticed a noise which is hard to describe, and wonder is this normal or not.

This is nothing to do with exhaust note, it almost reminds of a high pitched noise I used to hear in my 720 - which turned out to be a power steering pump failure.

The noise only happens when I am accelerating - it is coming from the front of the car - central and either engine compartment and deep behind the dash.

It isn't loud - but once you hear you can't unhear it!

As soon as my my foot comes off the accelerator pedal and we cruise - the noise stops. As soon as I give her some gas, its back.

Anyone have similar/any ideas? Is this nromal?

    Thank you!

If the noise is present under acceleration in all of the gears my first guess would be the turbo's.

Thanks - more investigation today makes me feel absolutely not turbos. Its a very odd noise, not consistent, sounds very electronic.

Today it came on a few times randomly when not under acceleration. But usually goes off when I lift my foot. Fairly faint, but when you hear it....Its annoying...

    Thanks

Ugh, if possible post a audio clip of the noise.

I was having a similar issue in my 458. I eventually realized it was a weird feedback coming through the sound system. Try turning your audio volume all the way down even when not listening to audio.
