    HI;

Just last week I picked up my 2021 Roma. I have come across a possible "issue" and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

When I was driving the car, I suddenly heard a "beep" after which the driver's instrument cluster screen as well as the center console screen both went blank and about 30 seconds later they came back on from a state which appeared to be "reboot" since it displays the typical tutorials at the startup of the car.

This is a random event and so far it has happened couple of times. Called service and I was told that I may have accidently pressed something on the steering wheel, such as the speech "button", which later caused it. They told me to keep an eye on it and see if it happens again try to track when and how it happens. Meanwhile I thought I come here and get some "fellowship" guidance! :)

Had my Roma for a year and never had this happen. I have been one of the fortunate ones that haven’t had any glitches or issues. My car just had its year service and they did a big software update as well as an exhaust fin swap for recall. Haven’t gotten the car shipped back yet so I hope the update hasn’t caused some issue, fingers crossed!
Good luck with your Roma it really is a great car.

What year is your Roma? Perhaps mine needs a software update. And, YES, I love it already. My first Ferrari and am already very impressed even though it is considered an "entry" level. The only problem is that it hates it when I drive it within speed limits....LOL

I picked up my Roma in early July this year. At least once a week the centre console screen and the drivers instrument screen both go full black. Generally at start up, but once or twice while driving. Apart from this I absolutely love my Roma!

I could understand it at startup (in fact I had it at startup and just accepted it as normal "boot up" process) but a blackout while driving I thought is odd and misplaced. Were you able to diagnose and fix the issue or it still remains the same?

i just received it back from Ferrari service today after them having it for 2 days for a software upgrade. my maps now don’t have Develop on the bottom. Everything felt and worked great as I drove it home today. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes over the next few days.

You would have thought the dealership would have gone through a checklist and have seen the "develop" on the screen. I guess I have taken delivery of too many Benz's and BMW's.

I was ready to take delivery and sitting in the car at the dealership when I saw the Developer label on the left side of the display. I asked my sales guy about it and asked should this be reset? He gave me some convoluted answer as to how it would probably reset once the car got outside.
As you could guess it never did reset and required a trip back to the dealer where it finally got "reset". In retrospect I think they purposely let it go that way because they did not want to take the time. Delivery and payment was scheduled that day and they wanted the money.
So I had to go with out this feature and waste my time getting it back to the dealer and wait some more to finally get it done. This was the beginning of the end for me with Ferrari as the service, or lack of it, got worse from there as the car developed problems. Car is sold and I could not be happier!

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Not sure how long ago this was but if it was during the last year or so, not sure if anything has been "normal"! At least the state the world is at, everyone has an excuse for everything and try to avoid "work"!!! IMHO Ferrari and cars similar to that class are generally speaking finicky cars, especially when a new model is introduced. "Its just nature of the beast" sort of speak. If you truly love the ride and what the car stands for, you just have to accept what comes with it. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't make it right what you have experienced and for some people like yourself, it's the end of the rope.

Hope the software upgrade was the solution and i almost want to bet on it. But please do keep me posted, thank you.

Does anyone know how to lookup the software version? Or is it something only a dealer can lookup?

Ferrari is living off its past. There is no more mystic. Its does not stand for anything other than what it is and that is an expensive automobile that no longer deserves the hype. The car they sold me was a fail along with the dealership. Moved on.

I had exactly this experience within a week of the car arriving. I did a 1,000 mile round trip to Durham and after the second day this started happening and I was able to take pictures to show the agent, I also had just the rev counter with the rest of the display blank. I also had very low oil pressure which was rectified by changing oil and filter which is a bit mysterious.

Anyway, they updated the software and all appears to be fine.

Once the upgrade had been done the speech button and cruise control vanish after about 10 seconds but a quick brush on the right of the wheel brings cruise/speech back again!
