My Roma has a white noise sound coming out from both rear speakers when I get into it and it stays on after I turn off the engine.

Also, it’s battery died after its first year.

Dealer doesn’t know what the issue is.

    Has anyone experienced anything similar?

White noise coming out of the speakers is indicative of a ground fault in one of the audio components.

Possibly. But if the amplifier has a flaky ground I’d expect all the channels to be affected.

Plus, I’d like to see if the rear channels work at all.

And powered down, I’d expect the channels to quiesce. Unless he hasn’t opened the door yet or allowed the radio to time out.

Read speakers have loud white noise. Fronts don’t. It stays on even after I open the door to get out. It seems to start when I open the door and the electronics on the dash turn on.

What is the source you’re connected on? AM, FM, XM, Bluetooth, other?

Nothing is connected when the static white noise is playing.

Did the rear speakers ever work?

From your description it’s likely the amplifier is toast. I assume volume control does not matter? You don’t have the rear channels gain set too high?

Volume control up or down doesn’t change the white noise and it’s volume - it’s constant.

All speakers sound good when I play music.

    Noise is post preamplifier.

I guess what I find interesting is the noise continues even after the door is opened. Which normally shuts down the power rail for the audio once you do a shut down on the steering wheel.

Could be a noisy power rail but I wouldn’t expect front and rear channels to be different in that regard. Nor the grounding to be different within the amp.

Only other consideration would be an induced noise from a cable running along side the speakers or to the amplifier from the preamp.

No changes to the car? Bone stock? Has it always done this or did something happen to start it?

Can’t help re: white noise, but my battery was replaced after 6 months and having had software update at time of battery replacement, the infortainment system cuts out completely intermittently (every 20 mins or so for a couple of minutes) when connected to Apple CarPlay. Allows me to listen to the engine, but a little annoying when using Waze.

No changes to the car. 100% stock. Received Roma in late June 2021. It started around 6 months after I received it. Local dealer doesn’t know what to do,

If it is source invariant noise and does not change with engine revs or motion you are pretty much down to a bad entertainment module.

It is likely an all-in-one system so they gotta replace it.

Ferrari worked out what was wrong. My Roma’s amplifier is faulty, so a new one has been ordered from Italy. Hopefully fixed in January 2023!
