We are pretty serious about food, not into trendy or hi-end for its own sake. Any suggestions for great, authentic or interesting food? We will be in Rome briefly on our way to Sicily. Gracie.

Ristorante "La Pergola" c/o Hotel Cavalieri Hilton (Top of the top, chef is Mr. Heinz Beck, very elegant suite is required)
    Via Cadlolo 101 - Rome

    Ristorante "Gusto"
Piazza Augusto Imperatore 9 - Rome (my gf works here as sommelier)

    Enoteca Roscioli
Via Dei Giubbonari - Rome (near Campo dè Fiori)

    Enoteca/Ristorante Trimani
    Via Goito 20 - Rome

    George's
Via Marche, 7 - Rome (behind Via Veneto)

Most of these are in the centre of the town, near some interesting places to see, and it's a selection of the best restaurants in my city.

In the part of the Castelli Romani, outside Rome, i suggest you:
    Antico Ristorante Pagnanelli
Via Antonio Gramsci 4 - Castelgandolfo (right near the summer residence of the Pope)

La Pergola looks incredible from that picture, with a 3-star Michelin rating.

A fun restaurant in Transtevere is MEO PATACCA. The style and the decor including the waiters is Rome as it was 200 years ago. They also entertain with typical music. It is a must.
