Some but not too much today, although I believe it's on it's way. The whole summer has been a bit of a washout - haven't put many miles on the 348 since it doesn't come out in the rain!
There is a reason. Yes he's that good. PS; I didnt forget about Mansell. Just didnt mention him. Another boot stap hero.
Same here. My nephew was national champion in junior Kart three years ago and national champion in senior Kart last year. He's doing not too bad in the European championship and I beleive he recently qualified for the world championships. But even though karting's already quite expensive, there's an even bigger financial wall to make the next step. Also don't forget that at that age it would be a much safer bet to put all your time and energy in studying and make a career instead of gambling everything for a spot in F1.
And Ron knew this when LH was 13? BS, pure luck at that point. You seriously don't think this might have helped too? http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/7254,features,how-lewis-hamilton-was-trained That's certainly not the same as someone sponsoring you. I firmly believe all the simulator training at that young an age has severly decreased his learning curve in relation to a driver without this training. This is why I tend to be a bit less impressed by the fact that he's so good so fast. With all that training he should be.
What does this have to do with anything? Where would any F1 driver be if they couldn't secure the millions of dollars of support for them to get through, Formula Renault/BMW/Ford then Formula 3 or World Series, then GP2? All of these drivers have had tremendous support to make it into F1. Even Kimi had to find millions of dollars in sponsor money to join Sauber.
