    Hi All,

Has anyone got a F-car fitted with roof racks or a tow ball?

If you do can you post some pics with the fittings. Trying to Think of ways that me, the 355, my wife, mountain bike and surfboard can all travel together.

Probably think I'm nuts, but I already know I am.

    Regards

I've heard you can't go over 80 with the rack on the car though.

Jam - as you can see below from Mike's pictures, I have done it on multiple ferraris. You don't want to do more than 80ish mph with the bikes on top (at least I don't like to), and the rack itself will cause a lot of drag / noise (even with vibration reduction pads), so I don't drive at more than 120ish mph with it on.

It's fully removable w/o drilling, but I would say put a little helicopter tape on the car where the silicone pads touch the top of the car.

BTW - it's something you'll have to look at individually. Amazingly, Yakima and Thule don't have fits for Ferraris! :D

Oh - I wanted to add:

To do a tow-ball, you'd have to come up with something particularly clever. There is no way to create such a setup w/o either cutting into the paneling below the car, or cutting into the bumper (one thought was to cut a hole behind the license plate, and then have a telescoping arm to which one could attach the ball).

Unfortunately, given the frame dynamics of the Ferraris, this is highly suspect at best and you run the risk of doing real damage to the car.

Exactly why you should have a Ferrari as a second car, you want utility lease an Explorer.

JAM - the looks you'll get at more popular riding spots when you're pulling off the bikes from the ferrari are priceless. The naysayers be damned, use the car for what it is: a car!

jvbjr: that's why it's important to have two! Forget the exploder.

Love the Pic's, thanks for the info. Looks like the Roof-racks would be possible, i'll just need to do a bit more research on what type and brand.

It's hard to get over 80mph hear in Hong Kong.

I only own one car the 355, its my daily transport hear in HK, and I'd like to take my mountain bike and board with me occasionally rather than catching a cab with them.

    Thanks again.

Take the 308 nearly everywhere. Three weeks ago i needed some milk, bread, and steak. Well, the plastic gallon milk container got a hole it in from the screwdriver i keep in the storage area. Perhaps taking turns at speed caused this :)

So when i got home there was about 1/4-gallon of milk spilled in the trunk. i simply cleaned it up and rinsed off the back carpet a few times and wiped with a clean towel. No biggie. Drove her over 1000 miles in the past three weeks including a track day.

Moral of story: Don't cry over spilt milk

(and yes, the above is a TRUE story)

Where do the front wheels of the bikes go? Do they attach alongside the bikes, as with the F40 pic?
