Here's the deal - I was rootin' for her from Day One of the comeback that would end at any... well, one could only hope it wouldn't. With a 12-4 record in 4 Tournaments in all of last year & a knee injury, Serena Williams' ranking had gone as low as #140 just a scant 6 months ago. She scraped off the rust & went into this Grand Slam Tournament... The Australian Open... unseeded. She believed in herself. She ended up not just winning the whole thing against #1 Player in World Rankings, Maria Sharapova, but, schooling her (6-1, 6-2 - Sharapova's worst score in any Grand Slam). Just a beautiful, inspiring thing to see The 2-Time ('03, '05) Champion & show up as The 30+:1 Underdog... and win and win and win... and when it counted most... play her best match not just of the Tournament, but ever. Baby got back! Literally and figuratively! Friggin' inspiring!
