You don't know anything about me, my ethnic origins, my family, but you certainly quickly jump to conclusion.
"provincial racism, racial supremacism", the accusation is just so off target, and so funny.
I don't feel the need to justify myself. I state facts and gave my opinion; you are free to ignore them.

We have very good moderators on this forum, I think.

If Neurobeaker thinks I have gone too far in my comments, he will tell me, and I will listen to him.

Making veiled accusations that Hamilton's detractors are "racist" is an argument that has no basis.

My wife is Japanese. We travel back to Japan frequently. I've never yet seen/heard anything remotely like what you're describing.

Japan is a country made up of linked islands, when people think of "Japanese", they typically think of just a tiny fragment of Japan.

I am from the united states, you go to one part, and people protest eating animals, you go to another part, and people sit out in the pre dawn to kill and then butcher a deer for its meat that they eat for months to come.

I have never been to Japan myself, but I can often tell I am corresponding with a Japanese person online. Their English is text book perfect. The only people that come to close to having as good of an English writing population in my experience is Sweden.

I may add that I was expecting the issue of Hamilton's ethnicity to be raised at some point by some of his fans to shut up the critics.

That's usually how things work in our PC era.

By and large, the only area of "racial sensitivity" for the Japanese are the competitive feelings they hold towards some of the other nations/cultures in East Asia (mostly Northeast Asia).

Uhm. I believe you were the first one to bring race into the discussion of marketing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Let's see what the mods think. I see thinly veiled racism in several posts

I did say that Rosberg was, in my view, more universally marketable than Hamilton.

I didn't make reference to race, but rather to lifestyle, image, appearance, etc...

Am I mistaken in saying that in Japan many people still have to hide their origins if they have distant Korean ancestry, for example?

Is it not true that parents research the family background of future spouses for their off springs -notably to check that they are "pure" Japanese?

You can say that I make it up, but I know different.

I lived/worked in Japan for several years ( no not as an English teacher),I still have a lot of friends from the country, those comments are way off base...total rubbish .

I hope they were made after too much single malt or whatever, even then it is hard to comprehend.

"You are too focused on the European market. It's declining compared to Asia, the Middle East were most people are attracted by the kind of image projected by Rosberg. I will have to spell it for you, but on some market, using someone like Hamilton, some one of mixed race, half African, would be a terrible mistake to promote a product. Some countries are very sensitive to that; China, Japan, Korea, even India."

Post 483. Show me where someone mentioned race before that.

    Yes , you are correct.
On most countries in Asia, it would be a terrible "faux pas" to put an African to promote a product. Most advertising agencies know that and use different posters or videos on different market.
Now, that maybe in response to racial sensibility in different parts of the world, but reporting it doesn't make me endorsing it.

I was just answering to a post from someone claiming that Rosberg is not marketable but Hamilton is. I don't think that is correct, and I explained why.

Not Alonso, not Botas now, it has to be Wehrlein, or Nasr.

Masayoshi Son, founder and current CEO of Softbank and second wealthiest person in Japan, is very open and transparent about his Korean ethnicity.

Bottas is out? Boy, Mercedes does not have much to pick from if all they have is Wehrlein and Nasr. They still need a good driver so they end up in the points for WCC.

I don't believe race has anything to do with anything nowadays, otherwise explain Tiger Woods? Mercedes needs a strong fall guy to Lewis, maybe Jenson will rethink his retirement and take up as the strong, mature, thoughtful, dependable.
