He did not turn his back on Mercedes but on F1, that is a big difference!!!
It is funny how some over here think they have to retaliate just because he has beaten their chosen one ;)
    See above... :D

Rosberg embassador? Whatever. He'll be forgotten soon enough. Mr. no personality.

When does ambassador mean he will be 'mooching around in the back of the garage'? Nico is a highly intelligent, clean cut, clean living family man, which, despite y'all thinking elton is the iconic Mercedes owner, he really isn't, Nico is. He is the type of chap that the vast majority of Mercedes customers would identify with - family, success, sensible. Most aren't immature gangsta wannabes.

I think he will be a great ambassador, and of course, he is REIGNING WORLD CHAMPION....teehee..... ouch

+1 multi lingual, successful and educated well spoken etc etc. Nico is a worthy ambassador for the brand. Im not sure why some here think otherwise. Both Nico and LH have marketability. Whats the issue.

The modern Mercs don't have much personality on the road either ; P

I don't think you want a big personality as brand embassador honestly.

He's a conservative choice for a pretty boring lineup of cars IMO. Half of them look like electric shavers ; )

I believe one of the important attributes of any brand Ambassador is that the customers can trust him/her ... not too sure if Nicole qualifies on that front.

Mercedes have no choice than to retain Rosberk as ambassador. They have to save face. It won't matter in the end as he is already irrelevant to the sport and marketing. Last years champion has no value.

State what criteria he has failed. He raced in F1 for years, is multi lingual and left the sport as a WDC. Hmmmm sounds alot like other celebrity endorsers or brand AMB's. Clearly the management of Daimler some 30km from me think he has an element of marketability that works for them. Given they have marketing data at hand......fill in the missing elements they are not considering given they have worked with him EXTENSIVELY for years.....

Well for starters how about the fact that he signed a new 2 year contract with MB F1 earlier last year then basically threw in the towel on the spot ,leaving his employer in a very difficult situation?

Can you trust someone after that ?

Just wait for the next headline...Nicole quits as MB brand Ambassador after just a few weeks into the new job ...citing family reasons etc etc

Sounds like you really hate the poor chap........ what's he done wrong? Achieved his life's ambition and been honest with himself and everyone else that his heart isn't in it anymore?

Hahaha....sensational!!! The trustworthiness of Rosberg questioned by one of Hamiltons followers...the same guys who think that Hamilton is a great representative for Mercedes because of his social media fame...Made my day
Get over it: Rosberg is WDC 2016 and Hamilton is not...no matter what you will say in the next months will change anything about that...

I am really not a Nicole hater or even a big Lewis follower, although yes i would rate Lewis generally higher than Nicole.

Nicole is WDC,not by accident ,so good luck to him.I'm over it a looong time ago.

So if Rosberg is not trustworthy...what about Hamilton then? The guy that has lied multiple times, can't keep a single story straight and with a superinjunction to stop a secret coming out?

If you read some of the comments coming from owners of the newest MB cars in US. They have more problems then fretting over Nico. Read the post, German cars implode!!

Unfortunately not...because the normal MB-driver of today could not identify with you as long as you do not experience the same electronic issues ;)
That´s why they prefer F1-drivers: when their KERS stops working the C-Class driver on the couch can tell his wife "look, just like mine" :D

And here's why Mercedes needs to be careful with elton being an ambassador No one in f1 or watching it cares about skin colour lewis, they only care about fair racing, promise

Like Nico Rosberg is the first driver to walk away from a team whilst still having a contract to drive for them!

(Niki Lauda did it to both Ferrari and Brabham "back in the day", and Fernando Alonso is a Grand-Master at it!)

Do you have the same disgust and mistrust for teams when they happily dump drivers who still have contracts to drive for them? - After all, a breach of contract is a breach of contract, regardless of which side breaches it!

I very much doubt Rosberg breached any clauses in his contract. If he had tried to go drive for Red Bull next year, sure, there would be a contract issue - but to stop driving entirely would be permitted under a retirement clause, nobody will try to force a driver to race if he no longer has the will and confidence to compete.

I would bet Rosberg's contract allows him to stop driving, but in return he would forfeit any retainer payments, results bonuses, sponsor payments, etc. He stops driving, Mercedes stops paying him, done. Quitting mid-season would probably have penalty clauses that would have hurt him financially, but he didn't quit mid-season.

I would have agreed 100% before he walked away from his seat with Mercedes, for all that think he's a strong role model worthy of the exciting luxury brand that is Mercedes, there will be just as many who will see him as a mercenary quitter.

Rosberg is Mercedes' past, they should focus on their current driver line-up to promote the brand.

I would doubt that very much, there will be compensation clauses both ways if the contract does not run its full term. Nico just signed a new contract and him just walking away at the start of that contract will almost certainly trigger a compensation clause back to Mercedes, just like if Mercedes decided they no longer wanted him. There will be money involved here.
