As the subject says... Any real benefits over Silver to sub to Rossa? Are the Rossa forums that much better, or should I just stick with going for silver?

Actually the new "Titanium" subscription is the best.

It includes full day excursions with the FChat 288GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo.

If you're really lucky, the owner of a 250GTO will randomly select you and spend an afternoon with you and his car, driving you about the countryside.

Or, you could go Silver. :D

Don't listen to a word he says. ;)

Everyone knows "Unobtainium" is obviously the very best subforum on the board, but it cannot be found throughout the vast majority of the year. :p

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Silver is the best value for $11 per year (when you buy 5 years worth for $55).

Rossa is for when you want to donate some extra money to Rob for "the cause".
Rossa is $30 per year when you buy 5 years worth for $150.
I joined Rossa a few years back when the forum was having a lot of server issues and Rob had to make the investment to move it over to a new server provider.

That's certainly an element of it, but it's a little more than that. Rossa is quite quiet compared to Silver, but I think that, because of that, people will often go there when they want advice from or to share something with a much smaller crowd. Silver can be a bit more rough and tumble sometimes in between the thoughtful comments.

The bigger inbox and signature are nice too. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Had both off and on over my years here, Silver currently, may re-up with Rossa this November, who knows.

Biggest advantages of Rossa are extra bells and whistles, you still get essential content with Silver. Going Rossa's a good gesture of support for the site.

I've had both, silver is a great entry to the subscribed sections, if you want more or you want to support Rob and the site, go Rosso.

Whichever one you choose, you'll like both.

Hmmm Palladium or Unobtanium sounds best ;)
I've seen most of the forums before prior to the subscriptions, so I guess Silver is definitely the way to go, unless dm_n_stuff wants to give me a preview of the Titanium sub. I'll start with the Enzo please :p

It's really worth the fifteen bucks to go Silver. Really it is. Outside of Other Off Topic
and a couple other sections, the non-subscribed portion of the site is very much car
related - tons of great F-Car info, advice, photos, etc. as you know.

But Silver is the "private social club" of F-Chat - zillions of threads about all aspects
of life and such - not much "car talk" :)p:p) at all. A great many regulars are there
all the time engaging in all kinds of great discussions. It's the most vibrant internet
forum I've ever found - well worth the price of entry.

Rossa is more a "status thing" - the Rossa section is more subdued, less active, and
a bit more formal than Silver. Sort of like the "cigars and brandy" room of the club.
And it shows a higher level of support for the site overall. Of course, if you go Rossa,
you certainly get into Silver as well.

If you own a Ferrari, and have Silver or Rossa, you can apply to enter the elite
"Owner's Forum" section - available ONLY to confirmed Ferrari owners. Most of the
discussions there are Ferrari related on a very personal level, talking about our own cars.

But if you're deciding, by all means give Silver a try - it really is a cool forum - you
won't regret it and will probably become addicted like all the rest of us up there.

    :)

Very well put. This last year I upgraded from silver to Rossa after only being silver for several years. I did not do it for any reason other than to show support for the site. Silver is more than worth the price of Rossa. Great group of people on this site.

To tell the truth, I lost interest in the subscibed forums a couple of years back, can't put forth the effort to do more than occasionally post a line or two. Only reason I've renewed is that my wife likes to browse there but hasn't wanted to open her own account.

Once in a great while, a certain couple of guys will rub me the wrong way and I'll respond, but that's in itself a reflection on me...I'm letting a couple of yahoos I wouldn't know if I tripped over them upset me for no good reason.

Maybe I'll let the sub expire this year and take a six-month vacation, let mrs. open her own if she wants. There's plenty going on in Fchat non-subscribed. After all, this is an automotive board.

I paid for silver a several months ago after my subscription expired and wasn't coming here as much, and I just emailed the contact us on this forum again today as I'm still waiting for the activation email to be resent :(

Someone help me if they see this.

Now that I'm working on the car again, missed hanging out with people here plus my PM box is full! :(

Sorry about that! I'll flag it for Rob in the moderator forum, so hopefully things will get sorted out quickly.

Thanks, as a long time user, it added insult to injury when some other "new" user was telling me in a condescending way on another topic that I should subscribe and how many pennies per post it is, and if I have a Ferrari should be able to afford it, lol. And even then I had already paid for it when reading that!

    common subscription problems...

    1) if you don't have a balance with paypal it may take up to a week for paypal to clear and our system to automatically upgrade you.

    2) if you use 2checkout cc option if your payment email doesn't match the account email then I send a reply to your payment email asking for your username. you may have spam block or didn't enter a valid email so it bounces when I reply.

    3) you have an alias account and paid with email used on the alias account you long forgot about.

forward the payment receipt or your payment email to [email protected]. thanks.

    Hello Rob:

    1) Its been more than months, so the week with paypal isn't the issue.

    2) I think the email not matching may have been an issue, I updated my email on forum here much later, but I know it charged me. I can't get the old email if it was sent, if someone could have the activation resent to the yahoo email I setup for this forum, that would be great!

    3) Never had another account here.

Why no one answers the contact us form? About a month ago I asked there before also. The payment receipt likely went to the same place the activation did so I don't have it. I do have the name, and last 4 of the credit cards I use to dig it up that way to verify i did pay if needed?
