    Hello all,

Willing to paint an 1955 italian racing motorcyle tank in Rosso Cina, I was looking if somebody could share the formula with actual products.
If I'm real lucky, Mr. Marcel Massini may come across that.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm also looking for cellulose paint in Switzerland, any idea?

Thank you Mr. Massini for being here.

Ten is much more than I need. Just one would be enough, one of those used on works cars at the end of the fifties and the beginning of the sixties :)

I could easily find a maroon formula, but it would be a shame to have that on an Italian racing bike, no ?

If looking for privacy, we could go ahead via MP or WA.

You are right and I'm a little confused. But like not being a Landlord, I was only tiptoeing in, and probably leaving today itself.

A funny thing about Cinas is that the 3 cars I have seen that claim to be the color, all seemed pretty different in hue; always darker than Chiaro, but ranging from a dark-blood to something that is similar to an 80s Corsa. I almost get the impression that people claim that their cars are “Cinas” when the car is some random red that is clearly not one of the more common ones... :)

Also it is not one of the ones that one often finds in a sample fan deck. Mind you, fan decks are not necessarily that accurate, but short of finding old paint under a respray, they are pretty much the only game.

It looks to me like Cinas is was more of a Pininfarina-applied color.

    In less than 24h...

Are we in another world or is it Christmas already?

Thanks to FerrariChat and special thanks to Mr. Marcel Massini. Thinking in about how to thank you Mr. Massini, if you come one day to Geneva CH, I would be happy to invite you taste something that also comes from Modena. A 45 years old balsamic vinegar. It spent all those years in barrels of different types of wood, some of which are more than 100 years old. They usually enjoy it on Parmigiano Reggiano, with a good Lambrusco. Or on ice cream (!)

    Just let me know.

    Good evening to all,

For others who will read this post, they should know that the Max Meyer shop in Geneva, CH, informed me today that the MM references given correspond to a blue, a green and a red colour, but nothing like a Rosso Cina. And they are unable to find one of the others in their computer system:

    10847 It.
    20456 It.
    22450 It.
    25996 It.

    Rosso Cina 815.
    Rosso Cina 95 C 9614.
    Rosso Cina Duco 9467542.
    Rosso Cina Duco 9539614.

Max Meyer and Italver is not the same.
Suggest to contact PPG Switzerland GmbH located in Volketswil, Switzerland.

Thanks again and have a nice week-end.

So, which Rosso Cina are you really looking for?
You could easily contact Roberto Bertaccini of Cremonini Classics in Lesignana (Modena), Italy.
He has a million color samples and all the formulas.

I'm looking for the Rosso Cina of the racing Ferraris of the mid 50's. In fact between 1955 and 1960 to be exact.

And I'll also check with Roberto Bertaccini too.

    Thank you very much.

    Will begin with that.

Because it's not always easy for me to make up my mind from dots, even big ones.

Well, this is a real adventure.

Was looking for a 50's colour, something like that:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Or even that, a little less shinny:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

And everyone seems to have forgotten the formulas, because what I get looks more like reds from the 60's for me:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

I know it's not the best way, via Internet, to choose a colour, especially red ones. But I think I'll be happy with the top left one, from PPG.

Like it is just for a small project, a motorcycle tank, next time I see a Ferrari with the red I'm looking for, I'll go ask the driver.

Thanks to everybody for your help.
