I, too, recently saw an FF in that colour and it looked absolutely stunning.

Not a 458 but here is a dealer's sample of RM. It shows both sunlit and shadow tones (courtesy of Onno) The black is Nero Stellato.

I believe it is a tri-layer so is extra cost -- big time.

I was just there, too. The Rosso Maranello on the FF looked pretty good. Francesca encouraged me to test drive an FF when I get home, but it's not my cup of tea. She allowed me to sit inside the car and it was quite comfortable though. They also have a beautiful TDF blue 458 spider there.

Personally, I would not choose any triple layer paint. It's gorgeous, but not only is it expensive, I will bet it can't easily be touched up when you get the inevitable rock chips (even if you get a clear bra, you are bound to get some). Of course if the car sits in a garage and isn't driven, that isn't a problem.

Awfully hard to capture the right color tones and highlights. Look at how different the two FF photo colors appear. Nothing beats going to a dealer/atelier and looking at it yourself, taking it outside, etc.

At the end of the day, these colors are to die for... but so expensive and perhaps fussy. If I had any intention of tracking a car, I would not get any triple. For the road they are fine; they can be refinished by a good paint shop, but as has been pointed out, simple touch up is not in the equation.

Another angle..another tone. The only sample I saw before ordering the color was the model being held up next to the black one in the previous photo. Also, would change color from inside the showroom to outside.

Can you say how much the color cost? When I asked the dealer, I was told that it would be determined by Ferrari (not making this up)

That is the same price as Rosso Fucco, which is the same process.
