In this month's EVO feature of the 550 LM, they make reference to the Rosso Miami color is being the one used on 'racers', and it's true that this bright red has the fluorescent accents of the F1 cars.
Is that the official color name ?
Is there a reason why this option is not available on the official road cars color palette ?

My understanding is that Rosso Scuderia is the F1 racing red while Rosso Corsa is the "normal" red for road cars. At least thats what they told me durring my factory visit.

Would Rosso Miami be the first Ferrari paint named after an American city ?
We already have the California & the Daytona but those are cars not paint colors.

A Ferrari Miami car would have to be convertible :) Maybe they will name the 430 spyder the Ferrari 430 South Beach LOL

That's what semantics would lead you to believe, but the F1 cars have a much more saturated red, probably designed to stand out on TV and press pictures. Looks almost fluorescent. The 550 LM in the Evo article looks different in sunshine pictures, unfortunately not visible on the evo.co.uk site.

Or is this just an impression ?
