Anyone know a good place to get rosso in a paint stick to cover up a chip in my front spoiler? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’ve had excellent color match results with Dr. ColorChip. They don’t offer a paint pen, you apply the paint in the chip and squeegee away the excess. This prevents blobs above the paint surface. Their kits are very reasonably priced compared to paint pens. https://drcolorchip.com
And also don't forget PPG 300-12 which I thought was on most of our 348 cars. Here is an old discussion on the subject: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/shades-of-rosso-corsa.182252/
There is a GM(I think it is) chip repair color from duplicolor you can get at most auto parts stores that's a dead match for one of the rosso shades it also. I used it, looked like a better match than Dr. Color chip as well.
My standard recommendation: Red fingernail polish. Available dirt cheap in a huge variety of shades of red, buy several colors as a trial. Give the non-matches to your wife. Basically, paint is paint, no matter how it is packaged and marketed.
A number of years ago the parts manager at Ferrari of Scottsdale who had been there many years told me that up into the early '90s the factory included a pint of paint with every car when it came in. He laughed and told me they put them in inventory rather than giving to new owner.
I am going to second Dr. Colorchip. I re-did the touch up paint on my car and I love not having any paint blobs. I highly recommend.
