    Question: does anyone know anything about Rotary Rockets (spec mazda racers)? I'm thinking about signing up for their season and just would like some unbiased input.

    Rob Lay used to run spec7 in Texas, as does several other Texas guys. Rob's now running some other class in his new RX8. PM him for details, or check the racing forum

    Other than a vintage F-car V12 there's nothing quite like the snarl of a peripheral ported rotary engine. As Tillman said Rob is probably a very good source to check for Spec Mazda info, but beyond that you should probalby also check over at www.rx7club.com too as there are bound to be pleny of folks there that'll be more than happy to provide you with tons of info.
